Introduction

Welcome to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans! Located just south of historic and exciting New Orleans, this station is right along the mighty Mississippi River and not far from the Gulf Coast making it a great place to live, though you might want some bug spray in the summer. Moving is usually tough at the best of times and if you’re not from the area it can be even harder. Here you’ll find some NAS JRB New Orleans on base options for housing which should make your transition a little easier.

New Orleans BAH

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is provided for you based on your rank and location. BAH is given if housing on Base is not available and you are looking at living in the surrounding area. NAS JRB New Orleans Barracks

Bachelors quarters are available aboard the NAS for permanent members as well as the Navy Lodge for those transiting through. Contact the Unaccompanied Personnel Housing Office below for reservations.

Wait times for on base vary so your first stop should be to the Housing Service Center and check the wait times here. Active duty, reservists, single Sailors, geographical bachelors, DoD employees, and retired military are all eligible to live aboard the base. To apply for housing first contact the Housing Office who will determine your eligibility. Then, you’ll need to complete an Application for Housing (DD Form 1746), and submit a copy of your orders, Record of Emergency Eata (RED, page 2/dependent record)

NAS JRB New Orleans Housing Options

Housing on base is a public private partnership with Patrician Management and is responsible for the management, repair, leasing, and upkeep of housing. Details on houses, floor plans, and amenities can be found here. On base housing consists of a single neighborhood called Chasse Village with two, three, and four bedroom homes in townhouse configurations. There are multiple floor plans available and plenty of amenities both within the Chasse Village neighborhood and on the surrounding base.
