NAS Oceana Commanding Officer

Welcome aboard! Since 1943, the men and women of Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana, Dam Neck Annex and Naval Auxiliary Landing Field (NALF) Fentress have provided world-class service to the fleet, our fighters and their families. This year, in the 75th anniversary of NAS Oceana, my staff will continue to honor our heritage by always striving to provide exceptional support to those we serve.

More than 70 operational, training and support commands call Oceana, Dam Neck and Fentress “home.” Most recognizable is the Strike Fighter Wing, U.S. Atlantic Fleet with more than 300 F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet strike-fighter aircraft. Other significant tenant commands include Training Support Center-Hampton Roads, the Information Warfare Training Command and Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic.

At well over 10,000 acres, our three installations are virtual cities with more than 7 miles of runways, grocery stores, shopping malls, dining facilities, lodging, fitness centers, two chapels and 36 holes of championship golf. We are also one of the largest employers in Virginia’s most populous city: Virginia Beach.

Because of their ideal location and beautiful year-round climate, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake have something to offer everyone. The people are friendly, helpful and eager to welcome you into their community. Throughout Coastal Virginia, you are sure to be treated with warm hospitality.

Regardless of your assignment here onboard NAS Oceana, Dam Neck or Fentress, you will be challenged and rewarded as you serve our Navy and our nation. In whatever capacity you serve, I want to personally thank you for what you do every day.

C.P. Vincelette

Captain, U.S. Navy

Commanding Officer
