Off-Duty Education

Nellis Education Center, Building 20, Room 330702-652-5280

All active-duty and retired service members, civil service and non-appropriated fund employees and their family members may participate in programs offered through the Nellis Education Center. All active-duty personnel are entitled to 100 percent tuition assistance up to $4,500 per fiscal year ($250 per semester hour cap).

Three on-base colleges and universities provide courses in academic, vocational and professional fields. College of Southern Nevada, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Oklahoma offer classes on base. In addition, the Education Center serves as the local campus for the Community College of the Air Force, which awards associate’s degrees in Applied Science that correspond to an enlisted member’s Air Force specialty code.
