The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health’s mission is to protect, promote and improve the physical and behavioral health of the people of Nevada. The division provides assistance through four branches: Clinical Services, Community Services, Regulatory and Planning Services, and Administrative Services. Division programs include HIV and AIDS prevention; substance abuse prevention and treatment; diabetes, heart attack, stroke and obesity prevention and control; clinical counseling programs; vaccines for children; early hearing loss detection and intervention; rape prevention and education; food security; oral health; maintenance of vital statistics such as marriage and divorce records; public health emergency preparedness; suicide prevention; and the Women, Infants and Children program.
