Third-Party Collections

Federal law requires patients to report any third-party insurance. The government may be able to bill your insurance company and recover costs associated with your care. There is no cost to you and, by law, third-party insurance companies cannot alter your coverage or raise your premiums based on the government’s efforts to collect funds. In addition, claims filed by the government for care may count as payment toward a deductible on your private health plan. You will be asked about third-party coverage at least once per year. Please help us by having your third-party information handy when you visit.
