Naval Hospital Jacksonville physician elected to national board of directors

Story by Yan Kennon on 02/07/2019

Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Bernstein, Naval Branch Health Clinic Mayport senior medical officer, has been elected to the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians’ board of directors (as Navy director).

Bernstein will represent over 2,500 uniformed family medicine physicians from the Navy, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard. He will be sworn in for a three year term at the upcoming USAFP Annual Meeting, in St. Louis, Missouri, next month.

USAFP’s mission is to support and develop uniformed family physicians, while advancing health, readiness, and wellness through education, scholarship, advocacy, and leadership.

Naval Hospital Jacksonville and Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Jacksonville deliver quality health care, in an integrated system of readiness and health. NH Jacksonville includes five branch health clinics across Florida and Georgia. It serves 163,000 active-duty and retired sailors, Marines, soldiers, airmen, guardsmen, and their families, including about 83,000 patients who are enrolled with a primary care manager.
