NSA Mechanicsburg Base Commander

Fellow sailors, civilian employees, contractors, dependents, guests and friends, welcome to the Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, Naval Support Activity Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Naval Yard Annex base guide. This publication provides important information on roles, missions, activities and programs at all three sites.

These three installations employ 12,000 people and have a $1.2 billion economic impact in Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania. We support warfighters from all U.S. military services and ensure the U.S. Navy remains the world’s
preeminent seafaring force.

NSA Mechanicsburg and Philadelphia is committed to ensuring you have a safe, productive and functioning work environment. We strive every day to effectively and efficiently deliver the wide range of services and support that our tenant commands require to accomplish their mission.

I am proud to say that in 2018, for the third consecutive year, we won the Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Installation Excellence Award – an unprecedented achievement. We also finished second in two of the past three years at the Commander, Navy Installations Command level competing against all small Navy installations worldwide. Our commitment to and stewardship of the environment has also received accolades. For the third year in a row, we were awarded the Chief of Naval Operations and Secretary of the Navy awards for environmental excellence – another tremendous feat. Collectively these awards reflect the professionalism, dedication and commitment of my NSA staff.

I am fully confident that we will continue to provide you the services and resources you need to perform your mission and ensure our Navy and warfighters are equipped and ready to remain the world’s preeminent force.

Captain, SC, USN
