Child Care

The Army at Redstone Arsenal offers two Child Development Centers, all for the families of Redstone Arsenal. The centers provide a safe and nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks to
5 years old, and are staffed by competent, trained and nurturing child care providers. They offer full-day and hourly care for children in stimulating environments that use age-appropriate curriculum and activities to develop motor, cognitive, social, emotional, physical and creative skills through a balance of exploration and planned curriculum. Learning activities are designed to support the natural development of children and include individual, small-group and large-group experiences. In addition, the two Army-operated CDCs offer a “Parents Night Out” on the third Saturday of each month from 6 to 11 p.m.

The Army CDCs are open to children of active-duty military, DoD civilians and contractors, activated Reservists and full-time National Guard. Monthly tuition fees are based on a sliding scale of six income categories. Income categories are based on Total Family Income and are standardized throughout the Department of Defense.
