The closest commercial flights land at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, about 1.5 hours from Robins AFB. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has shuttle service to the base. Visit the airport’s website,, for more information. Contact your sponsor with your estimated arrival time and flight information, if applicable, prior to your arrival at Robins Air Force Base.

Sponsorship is vital to the relocation process. Don’t PCS without talking to your sponsor before departing for Robins Air Force Base. Your sponsor will answer any questions you have about the base and the local area, make lodging or dorm arrangements and meet you upon arrival. Your sponsor will be there to help you and your family until you are settled into your new community.

Cellphone use by the driver of a moving motor vehicle is prohibited on all Department of Defense installations, unless the cellphone is used with a hands-free device.

From Middle Georgia Regional Airport

Robins AFB is approximately 10 miles south of Middle Georgia Regional Airport. From the airport, take Georgia Highway 247 south to Gate 1 on Green Street.

From Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Follow Interstate 75 south for about 79 miles to Georgia Highway 247 south. Take Georgia Highway 247 south for about 12 miles to Gate 1 on Green Street.

From Interstate 75

Newcomers who arrive in their vehicles will more than likely be traveling on Interstate 75. Take Exit 146 to Georgia Highway 247 Connector, also called Centerville/Watson Boulevard (east), to the main gate (Gate 3), approximately 5.8 miles. Or you can take Exit 144 to Russell Parkway (east), which will take you directly to the rear of the base (about 10 miles).


Military Personnel Section

Military members entering Gate 3, open 24/7, will be directed during duty hours to the INTRO Office, in Building 767, or to the 24-hour arrival point at Pine Oaks Lodging, in Building 557. The first full duty day after arrival, your sponsor will take you to your unit’s orderly room, which will schedule an appointment for inprocessing. Bring all hand-carried records with you for inprocessing.

Civilians assigned to Robins AFB should report to their assigned command support staff office. For more information, visit the Civilian Personnel Office, Building 376. Contact the office at 478-222-0601.

You will need to take two copies of your orders to your current finance office no earlier than 30 days prior to your outprocessing so your financial records can be updated for your PCS move. Your finance office will also brief you on your authorized PCS financial entitlements to include BAS, BAH, direct deposit, advance pay, per diem, mileage, dislocation allowance and temporary lodging expense. It is important to keep all receipts for filing your travel voucher upon arrival. If you have any questions, contact your serving finance office to assist you with any PCS entitlements. Note: You must receive concurrent travel approval from the gaining commander when bringing family members to the new duty station.

If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as instructed. The military will not pay for your spouse’s travel and housing if you do not follow proper procedures.
