The Education and Training Office provides quality educational and training opportunities to support mission readiness and professional and personal development for both the civilian and military populations. Staff members can assist with information on college and university programs, tuition assistance, counseling and testing services. Several local institutions offer degree programs at Robins, including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Georgia College & State University, Georgia Military College and Middle Georgia State University.


Airman & Family Readiness Center

The Airman & Family Readiness Center is a one-stop information and referral center and the cornerstone of the Robins family support system, helping airmen and their families enhance their readiness and quality of life.

The Airman & Family Readiness Center offers the following resources: Air Force Aid Society assistance, family readiness education and assistance, personal financial management, family life education, information and referral services, employment assistance, relocation assistance and transition assistance. Free child care is available through the Child Care for PCS program for 20 hours per child within 60 days of your arrival.

The center serves all single and married active-duty military, Department of Defense civilian personnel, Guard and Reserve members on active duty, other eligible uniformed members, military retirees and eligible family members. Call the center to schedule an appointment for consultations or to ensure services are available when visiting.

Child Development Centers

The child development centers offer weekly care for children 6 weeks to 5 years old, and hourly care can be reserved on a space-available basis. The centers provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the social, cognitive, language and physical development of youngsters. The centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Children of active-duty military personnel, DOD civilian personnel, Reservists on active duty and DOD contractors are eligible. Fees are based on total family income. Registration requires a completed DD Form 2606, immunization records, leave and earnings statements, and emergency contact information.

Family Child Care

Family Child Care provides an alternative to child development center care for families that need evening care, weekend care, care for children with special needs, infants and school-age children, as well as care during swing and midnight shifts.

The program also offers an opportunity for spouses to contribute to the family income while caring for their own children.

FCC providers are well-trained, they and their family members undergo a thorough background check and their homes are inspected for health, safety and other requirements. In addition, their homes are monitored regularly by program staff.

The school liaison office connects Robins AFB families and private and public schools. The office supports service members during all stages of transition and deployment to ensure children receive every possible opportunity for quality education.

Youth Center

In addition to before- and after-school care, the Youth Center offers children age 5 to 18 years old a variety of sports, including basketball, football, soccer, cheerleading and baseball. The center has a full-size game room with TVs, a gym, a rock-climbing wall and a computer lab. The center offers various activities for youths, such as special-event dances, carnivals, bowling, camping, fishing, swim parties, lock-ins, newcomer socials, martial arts and a youth sponsorship program for newcomers.

Throughout the year the Teen Keystone Club meets to plan special trips that are hosted during many of the school breaks. The Youth Center also has a Teen Council that serves as the voice on teen concerns and issues for youth who reside on Robins AFB and in the local community.

Legal Assistance

Legal service is available to active-duty military members and their families, retired military members and their families, members of the Guard (Title 10 status only) and members of the reserves on active-duty orders. Robins AFB’s library collection consists of more than 47,000 books. The library also offers computers, internet access, foreign language and tutoring software, movies, audiobooks, downloadable materials, magazines and newspapers, research materials and assistance. Online resources include: Online Public Catalog; Transparent Languages; OverDrive audio and e-books; databases for looking up articles in magazines, journals and newspapers; and practice exams (CLEP and DANTES). The library has a complete range of services for all age groups and interests.
