Travis AFB Getting To and Around in Solano County

Centered in Northern California, Solano County is right in the middle of Sacramento, the state capital, and San Francisco, the cultural heart of the West Coast. This central location provides easy access to California Wine Country in the Napa and Sonoma valleys, as well as many diversions offered at popular tourist destinations such as Lake Tahoe, Monterey and Yosemite National Park. People in the area prefer to drive, enjoying the open space in the county and the scenery while crossing the Benicia-Martinez Bridge from Suisun City into Martinez or the Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge (Carquinez Bridge) connecting Vallejo to Crockett.

For those flying, there are three major airports within 70 or so miles with numerous air carriers. There are a number of smaller airports nearby as well. The county has several options for public transportation, and the area is also served by Amtrak and Greyhound.
