Travis Air Force Base 2018 Solano County Events

There are plenty of entertaining activities in Solano County — music, sports, theater, museums, parks and shopping. Experience the terrifying Break Point Plunge at Waterworld California, for instance, or tee off at one of the many 18-hole golf courses in Solano County. Don’t miss the annual Dixon May Fair or the Fairfield Tomato Festival. See dolphins swimming and feed the tallest land mammal in the world (a giraffe) at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. And be sure to check out the Travis Heritage Center to learn all about the history of Travis Air Force Base.

Residents of Solano County enjoy a variety of annual events, festivals and community gatherings.

Dixon May Fair

The Dixon May Fair is the oldest district fair and fairgrounds in the state of California. The fair is held at the Dixon Fairgrounds in May, with the four-day event ending each year on Mother’s Day. The fair features free concerts, bull riding, demolition derby, livestock shows, carnival rides, games and other attractions.

This free festival has been celebrating tomatoes for the past 25 years. Enjoy free tomato sampling, tomato-eating contests, a classic car show, salsa recipe contest, live music, carnival games, pony rides, vendors and beer/wine garden.

Fiesta Days

The city of Vacaville has celebrated Fiesta Days for a week at the end of May every year for the past five decades. Come out and enjoy live music, a carnival, the family fun zone, pancake breakfast, a parade, diaper derby, performances and much more.

Northern California Pirate Festival

The first and only event of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Northern California Pirate Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016. Pirate lovers from all around come to Vallejo each Father’s Day weekend for cannon battles, maritime music and family entertainment.
