The Airman & Family Readiness Center staff provides referral information for all military members assigned to Westover. It is in Building 1100 on Walker Avenue (near the Base Ellipse). The center staff also provides personal financial assistance, a computer lab, pre/post deployment support, Operation Pillow Case, resume writing and relocation assistance.

Most of our 455 rooms have been recently renovated and are being well maintained making your stay at Westover a pleasant and restful experience.

We offer space-available lodging for eligible members as capability permits.

The Flyers Inn offers first-class accommodations. Standard guest rooms include full- and queen-size beds, flat-screen television with DVD player, phone, microwave, iron and board, refrigerator, coffee pot, hair dryer and a writing table. Distinguished Visitor Suites offer a host of comforts including a queen-size bed, two televisions, DVD players, two phones, a sitting room, fully stocked refrigerator, microwave, iron and board, coffee pot and hair dryer. We have eight standard guest rooms and 12 Distinguished Visitor Suites with sleeper sofas.



This is a membership (consolidated) club which offers breakfast, lunch, evening dining, a cocktail lounge, casual bar and banquet facilities. Features include live entertainment, dancing, competition events for prizes and much more. Catering is available for weddings, baby/bridal showers, squadron parties and a host of many other events.

The Westover Club is consolidated and allows all ranks to come and relax with a delicious meal or dance to the sounds of a local band performing in the lounge.

This co-located club is one of the premier facilities of the Air Force Reserve Command. This friendly facility includes separate dining areas and lounges, a common serving area and a beautiful ballroom that can accommodate up to three functions at one time.

Your appetite will always be fulfilled as there are daily lunch specials and scheduled evening dining.

Members are offered an endless variety of special events such as Wing Wednesday, holiday celebrations, cookouts, sports programs, trivia competition, karaoke, check-cashing service, special birthday celebrations, billiards and membership nights. Club membership is open to all officers, enlisted, reservists, retirees and DOD civilian personnel.

A monthly schedule of events is mailed to each member.



Westover is the only Air Force reserve base to have its own bowling center; it’s a premier facility that features a legendary snack bar with a large menu and cosmic bowling (glow-in-the-dark bowling).

The facility houses 16 lanes, a pro shop, lockers and a snack bar with pizza operation. Sanctioned leagues for all levels and ages of bowlers are active year-round.

The Bowling Center offers league bowling, open bowling and cosmic bowling. The center provides tournament play, instructional bowling, pro shop and ball drilling services, snack bar, locker-shoe rental service, amusement machines, updated automated bumpers and scoring system. It caters to children’s birthday parties, promotion parties and squadron get-togethers.

The pro shop offers all the latest bowling equipment, name-brand bowling balls, a wide variety of bags and shoes, and lots of bowling supplies.

The snack bar is known for its chicken gumbo, chili, pizza and fajitas, and offers daily lunch specials.

We offer the latest in Cosmic Bowling and a superior sound system.

Our evening league play always has plenty of openings and runs Monday through Friday.

For children, bowling birthday parties are always popular. We offer package deals including bowling, food, beverages and fun. Bumpers are available.



Regardless of your physical condition or sports interests, the fitness center is a must to visit. We offer a large assortment of free weights, cardio and strength training equipment from Cybex, Life Fitness, Body Masters, Hammer Strength, Precor, Nautilus and many others.

A cardiovascular room is filled with stair-steppers, treadmills, recumbent bikes and cross trainers.

Marked outdoor walking/running trails begin at the fitness center and wind through the base running trail down Parameter Road. Outdoor activities such as tennis can be played on any of the three lighted courts. Additional outdoor facilities include one softball field, picnic areas, a sand volleyball court and four horseshoe pits.

A variety of seasonal intramural leagues offer something for everyone. Volleyball begins in the late fall through January. From January until May, we offer basketball league play with officials. Softball season begins in late May and runs through the summer months. Flag football begins in October and lasts through December.

The Fitness Center has state-of-the-art aerobic equipment and a wide variety of free weights. A group exercise room is available for a range of activities. Classes offered include Zumba, boxing, personal training, spin club and others. An outdoor track is available for running and is used for events throughout the year.



The equipment rental store is the place to find all your camping and fishing needs. Rent campers, lawn and garden equipment, sporting equipment and home usage items. Tables, chairs, woodworking power tools, skis, bicycles, tents, canoes, kayaks, grills, coolers, camping supplies and much more are available. We also have an engraver for plaques and trophies, etc.

Outdoor Recreation oversees the base picnic area adjacent to the Base Exchange, the Base Camping area and a recreational vehicle storage area.


We have three new tennis and basketball courts that are lighted for evening play.


Located across the street from the Bowling Center, the Picnic Pavilion is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and is scheduled through the Fitness Center. Also available is a new kids playground and volleyball court.


We have two new softball fields that are lighted for the evening hours.


We have a new vehicle storage lot that holds up to 65 recreational vehicles. We also have a second lot shared with Outdoor Recreation that can be used to house small recreational vehicles.


FamCamp is located in conjunction with Outdoor Recreation Activity and offers 20 sites with a concrete pad, 50-amp electrical service and water to each site. It also offers a pull-through dumping station, bath house and laundry room.


A walking trail is adjacent to the FamCamp and offers a half-mile woodland trail with benches along the route in a New England nature setting.



The mission of the Pioneer Valley USO is to enhance the quality of life for the men, women and families of the armed forces through social, recreational, educational and entertainment programs and services. Volunteers of the Pioneer Valley USO donate hundreds of hours of their time to assist at such base functions as incoming and outgoing deployments, Commander’s Calls, Family Days and air shows. The USO is in Building 1100 on Walker Avenue.


The conference center is centrally located on Westover with ample parking.

The Westover Conference Center is a premier conferencing facility, offering three meeting areas with 9,217 square feet of space. The LeMay Room offers theater-style seating for 220. A 10-by-14-foot screen is provided with portable audiovisual capability available. The Stonina Room offers seating for up to 150 participants by a combination of gallery seats and fixed theater-style seats. This area boasts state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities, including computer data display for PowerPoint, DVD, VCR and overhead projection.

A moveable partition can be opened into the Stonina Room to accommodate larger groups. The Halvorsen Room offers an executive-style meeting space for 10 with the option for up to 20 in a classroom-style seating environment. Video teleconferencing is offered in the Halvorsen Room.

The Conference Center has numerous analog lines and Wi-Fi to provide access to outside email accounts. At the Base Chapel across the street, there are two additional breakout areas. The first area provides a U-shaped arrangement for up to 25 and the second area for up to 30. The center also has a reception spot that can be used as a centrally located refreshment area.

The Westover Conference Center is complemented by an on-site manager, available to accommodate guests’ needs Monday through Friday. Signature services include arrangements for program planning, overnight accommodations, hospitality transportation, catering needs and desired support requirements.



The Westover Base Exchange is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with exceptions on drill weekends. The exchange is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday on Drill “A” weekends, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday on Drill “B” weekends.

The BX also provides uniform military clothing sales and service, customer service with Military Star payments and check cashing, Sears home delivery, a kiosk for online shopping, weekly courier service from Hanscom Air Force Base for special orders, alterations and dry cleaners services (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday) and barber services (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday).

During the year, on select drill weekends, the BX holds a “Case Lot Sale” with pallets of grocery items for sale in the Base Hangar.

The shoppette’s hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The total facility size is 8,854 square feet with a sales floor of 3,348 square feet.

Westover AAFES Shoppette has six fueling pumps with regular, midgrade and super fuels available during regular hours.

For your shopping convenience, there is a Class VI section with beer, wine and liquor, also offering tobacco, automotive items, food, frozen food and non-alcoholic beverages. “Snack Avenue” offers hot coffee, tea, cappuccino, pastries and a variety of sandwiches, and the shoppette has three checkout lanes. The shoppette also offers tire sales, Western Union, stamps, fax and copy machine services.
