Veterans in Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery and Preble counties are served within the Veterans Integrated Service Network 10. VISN 10 is the result of the integration of VISN 10 and VISN 11 as part of VA’s MyVA Transformation plan. The newly integrated VISN 10 is composed of 10 medical centers and the independent Columbus, Ohio, ambulatory care clinic and a network of 63 community-based outpatient clinics. VISN 10 provides personalized, proactive, patient-centered care to more than 685,000 veterans throughout the lower peninsula of Michigan, Ohio, northern Kentucky and Indiana. The closest medical center to Wright-Patterson AFB is the Dayton VA Medical Center, about 15 miles away.

The Dayton VA Medical Center is a state-of-the-art teaching facility that has been serving veterans for more than 150 years, having accepted its first patient in 1867. The center provides a full range of health care through medical, surgical, mental health (inpatient and outpatient), home and community health programs, geriatric (nursing home), physical medicine and therapy services, neurology, oncology, dentistry and hospice.

The medical center has 356 hospital beds: 185 nursing home beds, 80 acute care beds and 91 domiciliary beds. The center also has contracts with Wright-Patterson AFB and 11 area hospitals.
