The National Museum of the United States Air Force is recognized as the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum. It is open to the public every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Hours of operation are daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no admission or parking charge. A cafe is open for light meals.
The museum exists to inform the public of the service’s mission, rich history and evolving capabilities. Among its displays are items of historical and current significance in the field of military aviation relating to the U.S. Air Force. The museum tells an authoritative and illustrated story of flight from the Wright Brothers to the present, featuring more than 400 aerospace vehicles. Nearly 1.2 million visitors annually tour this most popular, free tourist attraction in Ohio. The 500-seat IMAX Theater adds another important dimension to the story of aviation.
