Sponsorship is offered through your new unit or civilian organization. If you are not assigned a sponsor, you may request one. Most sponsors will meet you when you get to the proving ground. If your sponsor does not meet you, proceed to your unit. Sponsors will escort new personnel during the in-processing period as much as possible.

Personnel arriving during duty hours that are assigned to the Support Detachment should report directly to the Military Personnel Division in Building 501, Room 71. Building 501 is located on the main post across from Army Community Service in Building 309. Personnel arriving after duty hours, on a weekend or a holiday should report to the temporary lodging office or wherever reservations have been made. All personnel (including Support Detachment and other units) should verify in-processing procedures with their unit.

Report to Military Personnel Division the first duty day after your arrival. Ensure you have all necessary in-processing documents on hand. Such documents include a copy of your PCS orders, your military personnel file, your record brief, your enlistment contracts or oath of office, DA Form 31 (Request and Authority for Leave), your most current evaluation or academic report, your promotion orders and all financial papers related to your PCS. An in-processing checklist will be issued by your individual unit.

A quarterly newcomer’s orientation is held at the Palm Garden Conferencing Center, Building 530, or as determined. Your commander or supervisor will inform you of your attendance requirement. Family members are welcomed but not required to attend. Child care is not provided. An assessment is made during in-processing at Army Community Service and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. A welcome packet, which includes the installation commander’s welcome packet and Plan My Move, is also included.

If you have questions or concerns about in-processing, you may contact Army Community Service and the Relocation Program manager at 928-328-2513. ACS, located in Building 309, also offers a lending closet for items you may need before your household goods shipment arrives to your new residence.
