The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is one of the largest livestock shows and rodeos in the country. Started in 1950, the annual event takes place over three weeks in February. It is one of the top five Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeos in the nation. In 2003, it received special recognition by the PRCA Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame. After the rodeo events, there is a concert by popular artists, mostly country-western musicians.

This water park offers more than 3 miles of tubing adventures, seven children’s water playgrounds, 17 water slides and two uphill water coasters. While the water park is only open seasonally, families can take advantage of the resort year-round. The resort includes fully equipped vacation homes with access to pools, hot tubs, playgrounds and volleyball courts. The water park and resort are in New Braunfels (just north of San Antonio), a historic German town filled with great restaurants, museums and attractions for the whole family.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is a theme and water park designed to reflect the heritage and culture of its Southwestern roots. Splashtown San Antonio boasts a 500,000-gallon wave pool, a quarter-mile-long lazy river, 40 water slides and tube rides, an activity pool with lily pads and balance logs, water and beach volleyball and basketball. Splashtown also features a large Kids Cove with 16 slides just for their smaller guests. It is located just minutes north of downtown San Antonio with free parking and is open seasonally.
