Is Key West Golf Open to the Public?

Yes, the Key West Golf Club is the only public golf course in the lower middle keys. In the early 1920s, the City of Key West sanctioned bonds for the construction of the course, and in 1923, the city acquired land on Stock Island and began designing the 200-acre golf course for everyone to enjoy.

Golf in the Florida Keys

Designed by the legendary golf course architect Rees Jones, the course is 6,500 yards, and participants can play up to 18 holes. The course is known for its lush tropical landscaping and stunning view. It's filled with palms, tropical plants, and mangroves. As it relates to playing, every nine holes has one par-5 and two par-3s. There are ample fairways and wide open drives, so players can expect to bring out their drivers. Keep in mind that this isn't the easiest course to succeed at, considering there are many water hazards, sand pits, and ruthless mangroves.
