Welcome to an active lifestyle with Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) aboard MCAGCC 29 Palms. MCCS consists of Food & Hospitality, Semper Fit/Recreation, retail services, Marine and Family services, and Support Divisions. All programs are offered to active-duty military personnel, retirees, family members, guests, DoD and NAFI employees. MCCS divisions are designed to enhance the quality of life of the Marine family by providing quality services and activities.

Marine & Family services strives to promote personal and family readiness through a wide array of classes, workshops and one-on-one counseling options. Take a look at the ways in which Family Services can assist you and your family.

The CRO’s mission is to provide quality transition assistance to Marines, Sailors, spouses, retirees, civil servants and other authorized members. Care for youth from first grade to 12 years old. CYTP School Age Care program is affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club of America. The partnerships allow CYTP to offer a wide variety of programs to enhance character, leadership and community awareness in the youth who are enrolled in the programs. The BGCA and 4-H assist the program in providing specialty clubs, outreach programs and community sport events.

Care for children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Care is provided in small group setting by a certified Family Child Care provider in a home environment located in government quarters. All providers are trained and licensed to operate quality developmental child care programs in their homes. FCC homes are inspected monthly and must meet the standards outlined in MCO1710.30E.

L.I.N.K.S. is an official Marine Corps program which helps families connect to the Corps.

The Marine Corps has expanded its definition of family to include the family Marines were born into, sworn into and married into. The L.I.N.K.S. program now offers multiple classes to accommodate all aspects of a Marine’s family: L.I.N.K.S. for Spouses, L.I.N.K.S. for Teens, L.I.N.K.S. for School-Age Kids, L.I.N.K.S. for Marines and L.I.N.K.S. for Marine Parents and Extended Family.

PREP is a skills training program established by Dr. Howard J. Markman of the University of Denver Center of Marital and Family Studies. It teaches married or engaged couples communication skills and ground rules for handling conflict and promoting intimacy. The program’s aim is to prevent future marital problems, including violence and divorce.

Information & Referral is the primary point of contact for the clients of Marine Corps Community Support. Single service and geographical bachelors can enjoy a variety of recreational activities including: pool, darts, foosball and ping pong. A variety of arcade games are also available. The Zone also offers a movie theater room and console and computer gaming.

The Single Marine Program has two shuttle vehicles that transport Marines to and from locations. The SMP shuttle vans have red and yellow signage on the side of the vans. SMP drives Marines and Sailors to the Commissary, Exchange, eateries and to the barracks.

The Community Center is free of charge for almost any function Monday through Friday without reservation. Weekends cost $10 per hour upon approval; submit a reservation request 15 days in advance for staffing purposes.

The meeting rooms at the Community Center are available for birthday parties, baby showers, retirement parties, unit social gatherings, training seminars and much more. There is a fully equipped kitchen available, and the outdoor patio is great for barbecues, with lots of space for dining, socializing and is in close proximity to the kitchen.

Play 18 holes year-round at MCCS’s Desert Winds Golf Course. This championship-rated course has rental clubs for active-duty personnel, a driving range and electric carts. And, after a long day of golfing, head into the clubhouse for a quick delicious lunch or hearty snack.

For just $100 a month, this self-care horse boarding facility offers a 24’x24’ partially covered stall, a tack locker in a locked tack room, round pen, mini-arena, a pasture with pond, shoeing area, wash racks and miles of trails. Mares and Geldings accepted. Stallions are not permitted.

If you wish to see the facility, please check in at the Outdoor Adventures building during normal business hours.

Lake Havasu

The Crazyhorse Campground provides a perfect setting for the nine vacation rentals. Situated on a small island in Lake Havasu, the campground provides the ideal combination of privacy and proximity to town.

Units are fully stocked with all of the conveniences of home including refrigerators, stove/ ovens, microwaves and coffee makers. The living room features a full size sofa/sleeper, swivel chair and cable TV with VCR. The newest rental is equipped for the physically impaired with wider doorways, ramps and railings.

All the wood and tools you need to make items from entertainment centers to plaques, cabinets, shelves and more. With just a small fee for the use of the tools, you can get right to being creative. Two Epilog CO2 Laser Engraving Systems are also available.
