The Branch Health Clinic’s mission is to provide safe, effective and efficient outpatient care to active-duty service members, their family members and retirees. The clinic provides basic family practice medicine. It has a full ancillary department and a limited number of specialty services. The clinic is part of the TRICARE Prime network. TRICARE is an enrollment-based system devised to provide beneficiaries with a primary care manager who will assess each patient’s medical needs and provide appropriate medical care. The TRICARE website, www.tricare.mil, provides medical benefit and enrollment information for family members and retirees. The MCAS community has more than 12,000 Department of Defense beneficiaries; approximately 5,000 are enrolled and treated at the clinic. The remaining 7,000 are enrolled through the local TRICARE network in the Yuma community.
All inpatient care for active-duty service members, their family members and retirees is provided through Yuma Regional Medical Center, Naval Medical Center San Diego or Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.
Clinic hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with no appointments available after noon on Thursday. Appointments are required for service and can be scheduled by calling 928-269-2700 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. For urgent care after hours and on weekends, please call the clinic duty officer at 928-502-2160.
Medical concerns can also be addressed through a telephone consultation. A T-Con will allow the patient to speak to a nurse and can address needs such as medication refills, requesting lab or other test results, or giving feedback on your treatment experience. T-Cons can be initiated by calling 928-269-2700 during normal working hours.
All emergencies are handled by the local civilian hospital. For emergency assistance, call 911. The air station fire department provides ambulance service for on-base emergencies.
