Base Training Tank/Base Swimming Pool

The Base Training Tank/Pool is behind Thomason Gymnasium and opens in the spring for lap and recreational swim. Aquatics Maximum Power Intense Training and assorted water aerobics trainings are available.

Bosma Skeet Range and Recreational Pistol Range

The Bosma Skeet Range is adjacent to the Recreational Pistol Range on Sutherland Road in the Hill Village housing area. Personal shotguns must be registered with the Marine Corps Police Department. The Skeet Range and the Pistol Range are open with reservations only.

Daniels Family Fitness Center

Get pumped at the fitness center located in Building 7960. Individuals will find certified personal trainers, Selectorized Body Master equipment, stationary and recumbent bicycles, treadmills and ellipticals. Other equipment includes cross-trainers, dumbbells and assorted free weights. Shower and locker room facilities are available. A coed sauna and a steam room are also available. Fitness assessments are available using the Micro-Fit system and may help tailor individuals’ needs.

Wellbeats virtual group fitness classes include yoga, Zumba, spin, step aerobics, kickboxing, stretching and Jillian Michaels’ videos. These classes are updated by Wellbeats quarterly so patrons will never get tired of the same class. Classes can be taken anytime on a first-come, first-served basis as long as the aerobics room is not reserved for another activity. The schedule is posted at www.mccsalbany.com.

High Intensity Tactical Training Program

The High Intensity Tactical Training is a comprehensive, combat-specific strength and conditioning program at Boyett Park that is essential to a Marine’s physical development, combat readiness and resiliency. This program takes into consideration the physical demands of operational-related activities to optimize physical performance while in combat. HITT workouts are available Monday through Friday at the HITT locker at Boyett Park. Contact Daniels Fitness Center to schedule group classes.

For more information, call 229-639-6234. Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The fitness center is closed on federal holidays.

Single Marine Program

The Single Marine Program (SMP) offers a variety of events for single Marines and Sailors aboard MCLB Albany. The SMP is in the Enlisted Barracks, Building 7130.

Thomason Gymnasium/Athletic Section

Thomason Gymnasium/Athletic Section, in Building 7360, has a variety of activities for all, including rock climbing, boxing/cardio and intramural sports such as flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball and dodgeball. A racquetball court is adjacent to the gymnasium.

Youth sports are conducted in conjunction with the local YMCA. Register and pay at the Daniels Family Fitness Center. Thomason Gymnasium staff may be reached at 229-639-5246. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; closed Saturday, Sunday and federal holidays.
