The Semper Fit administrative office is on the upper level, north wing, of Little Hall, Building 2034, Barnett Avenue, 703-784-2014. Semper Fit and Recreation consists of a combined arms team of professionals with specialized expertise in sports management, health promotion and education, fitness and parks, aquatics and outdoor recreation. The mission is to encourage, support and inspire healthy lifestyles by administering a well-rounded, holistic program that promotes personal involvement and well-being. The Quantico MCCS Athletic Program, in the Barber Physical Activity Center, Building 2073, assists Marines with promoting morale and esprit de corps, while keeping physically fit and mentally healthy, and to fulfill the leisure needs and interests of military personnel, their family members and eligible DOD civilians. The program provides recreational, informal and competitive athletic activities. The sports program is comprised of four elements: All-Marine and higher levels of competition, intramurals, recreational and informal walk-in activities. For more information, call 703-784-5627.

Youth Sports

Youth Sports provide a coed and inclusive (special needs children) recreational and instructional sports program that includes basketball, baseball, soccer and flag football. Ages vary by sport.

Emphasis is placed on fair and equal play, regardless of the skill level, teaching teamwork and good sportsmanship and improving skill level. All Youth Sports coaches are volunteers and are required to undergo background checks. They are certified by the National Youth Sports Coach Association. Training includes basic coaching, coaching children with disabilities (inclusion) and sport-specific training. More than 100 volunteers participate in the Youth Sports program. The Barber Physical Activity Center is in Building 2073, Barnett Avenue. The center is a comprehensive facility offering a state-of-the-art fitness center, group exercise room, spin room, full-size basketball court, three racquetball courts, martial arts room, health promotion center, co-op day care, locker rooms with saunas and a smoothie bar. The facility is open daily. Fitness programs include the HITT program, fitness assessment and exercise prescriptions, group exercise programs, massage therapy and a variety of specialty programs. The Physical Fitness Program supports the Marine Corps physical fitness test, combat fitness test and weight control requirements.


This Olympic-sized pool for the whole family is adjacent to The Clubs at Quantico, just off Dunlap Circle. The pool has both a low and high dive, waterslide and a beach-entry wading pool for children. The pool offers programming that includes youth and adult swim lessons, lifeguard training, family swims, lap swims and more. The Quantico 50-meter pool is also available for private parties. The mission of Quantico Outdoor Adventures is to provide outdoor recreation opportunities of the highest-quality to our military community. It is through these opportunities that we look to empower individuals and families to grow physically, mentally and spiritually all the while enhancing their quality of life and developing a stewardship towards the outdoors.

The outdoor recreation equipment checkout rental program rents a variety of equipment on a daily weekend or weekly basis. Available items include standup paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, mountain bikes, recreational sports equipment, camping equipment and more.

Instructional classes, skill development, safety classes, excursions and other activities are available through the Marine Corps Recreation programs. Call 703-432-6484.


The Paintball Park at Quantico is open every Saturday & Sunday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Walk-On Play. Private groups may be scheduled 7 days a week. Four different themed recreational fields are offered, with more on the way. Paintball, Paintball Lite, and Airsoft and offer a variety of admission and rental packages. The MCBQ Library is located within the Library of the Marine Corps, in the Alfred M. Gray Research Center, 2040 Broadway St. Patron parking is located across the street.

To check out library materials, a person must be active duty, reserve, retired military, a family member of active duty, reserve, or retired military, or a Quantico civilian Federal employee. An official DoD identification card is required at the time of registration. Storytime is held many times a week for various ages. The library is open seven days a week. 703-784-4348


Located on the lower deck of Little Hall, Building 2034, the Quantico Bowling Center is a 12-lane facility that has a snack bar and full-service pro shop. The center features “Glow Bowling,” which creates a club-like atmosphere with a light show and the latest music. The Bowling Center offers recreational bowling leagues, private party options and much more. For more information, call 703-784-2210.

Wheelchair access: The bowling center “inside” staircase is equipped with a wheelchair ramp. Handicapped patrons can enter Little Hall via the loading dock, take the elevator to the basement level, and follow the sign to the Bowling Center. It is suggested that patrons contact the Bowling Center staff at 703-784-2210 on evenings and weekends to ensure they can gain entry to the loading dock door.


Located on the main deck of Little Hall, Building 2034, Barnett Avenue, the Base Theater shows near first-run movies four days a week, Thursday through Sunday, to all authorized patrons. A concession stand serving popcorn, soda and candy is available during movie showings.

The historic Medal of Honor Golf Course, 3313 Fuller Heights Road, is open year-round to the general public, active-duty and retired military, DOD civilian employees, their family members, FBI Academy, National Guard and reserve personnel. This gorgeous facility offers an 18-hole course, practice range, practice putting green, a fully lit driving range, food and beverage cart and a Paramobile golfing unit. Our clubhouse features the Pro Shop, equipped with the golf industry’s latest gear, our Mulligan’s Restaurant, a banquet-sized pavilion and locker rooms. Patrons may schedule private golf outings, participate in beginner clinics, youth golf lessons and the Women’s Golf League or schedule private lessons. Through the Clubs at Quantico, patrons can reserve Mulligan’s Restaurant, and the outdoor pavilion can cater your food needs for golf events, private parties, PMEs and ceremonies. The Semper Fit Health Promotion Center is in the Barber Physical Activity Center, Building 2073, Barnett Avenue. It is staffed by both Navy medical and MCCS personnel to include a dietitian. The center offers various preventive health and fitness screenings such as blood pressure, body composition and bone density. The dietitian also offers one-on-one counseling.

The Semper Fit Health Promotion Center also provides educational classes and briefs to individual units for annual training and professional military education in support of the MCO on Semper Fit. Located at Building 2080, behind Pruitt-Hall Barracks, the Auto Skills Center assists with repair, maintenance and instruction on automotive needs for Marines and their families. The shop offers the assistance of certified mechanics and the equipment needed to repair and rebuild personal vehicles, as well as classes in preventive maintenance and repairs. The Auto Skills Center has a retail area stocked with oil, filters and vehicle fluids. Take Anderson Avenue, behind Barber Physical Activity Center.

Recreation, Information, Tickets & Tours (Rec/ITT) is at the Marine Corps Exchange, Building 3500, Russell Road, and offers information and brochures about many local and regional attractions. The staff searches out hot spots suitable for individual and family outings and tours of special interest to their customers.

Rec/ITT offers discount tickets and coupons to many local attractions: Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens, Six Flags America, Colonial Williamsburg, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Hershey Park, Luray Caverns, AMC and Regal Theaters, Washington Nationals Baseball and much more. Lunga Reservoir is closed until further notice due to dam work and UXO removal. There is no solid date for reopening. MCB Quantico CommStrat will advertise when Lunga Reservoir and the associated recreation area reopen for public use.


The Marina, open to the general public, is in the town of Quantico at the east end of Potomac Avenue, in Building 25. It has more than 100 slips, offering daytime, overnight and long-term berthing for boats up to 50 feet in length. Most slips offer electric hookups. It has restroom and shower facilities, a pump-out station and a small resale service that sells oil, gas, ice and other boat supplies on-site. The Marina has a small fleet of rental Jon boats, bass boats and sailboats for use on the Potomac River. For storage of your recreational vehicle or boat or for more information, call 703-784-2359.


The Quantico Shooting Club (QSC) is a membership-only club. However, anyone may become a member. The QSC is located on the Weapons Training Battalion Shotgun range, building 27261, off MCB-1. The QSC is open weekends only on a volunteer basis. The calendar of events on the website is updated every Thursday. Members must provide their own weapon, target stand, targets and ammo. The QSC provides skeet birds at additional cost. Regular memberships available are regular for active, retired, reserve military or active DOD employees which include immediate family members 12 and up. Associate memberships are for civilians and do not include family membership. The club has access to five rifle ranges up to 1,000 yards, pistol and shotgun ranges including international, trap and skeet fields. The QSC also holds pistol, rifle and shotgun competitions.
