MILITARY DEPORTATION FLIGHTS ORDERED BY TRUMP ARE BEING CANCELED

By Allison Kirschbaum

The military deportation flights have been canceled due to financial considerations. Another reason was the plane's poor capacity to hold immigrants, resulting in more usage of planes as the aircraft are not of a very high standard, causing more financial assistance to be required.

Trump considered the use of Guantanamo Bay as a detention camp to lessen the financial burden on their administration.

Deprived Military Deportation Flights

Trump's move to deport illegal migrants has been canceled recently due to the high volume of immigrants, resulting in a financial loss in the United States. Trump believes in having alternatives, given that the military plane is not doing very well.

Officials are having second thoughts on whether to continue the flying of C-130 and C-17 planes to cater to illegal migrants or to consider having them detained in the United States of America.

The decision was made on whether the aircraft used justified its price and purpose.

Locked-in immigrants in the U.S. are almost 30,000. The aircraft and its ability to dispatch huge numbers of immigrants will surely deteriorate over time.

Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp

Trump decided to consider the option of using Guantanamo Bay Camp, located in Cuba, as a detention for illegal migrants. As an alternative to dispatching them to their home country, Trump has suggested detaining illegal migrants there.

Guantanamo Bay is a detention camp that holds prisoners who have done unethical doings such as terrorism and immigrants without valid papers and identifications starting to stay in the U.S. Trump's decision is solid to consider Guantanamo Bay as a detention camp for immigrant detainees.

Trump believes that Guantanamo Bay can hold 30,000 illegal immigrants in the proposed detention camp. However, officials have suggested just holding fewer immigrants to make the Guantanamo space still viable for accepting non-migrant prisoners.

At the end of the day, Trump's decision as the president will be the one to follow regardless of the suggestions of the officials, and Guantanamo will surely become the new place for immigrant detainees in the future.

Cheaper Alternative Detention

Flights to Guantanamo will cost about $20,000 per individual migrant and $3,000,000 each for military flights in India.

With these numbers, an additional flight crew, one immigration and Customs Enforcement Official, and a medical team are required per aircraft. Given the complexity, the use of finances in deporting illegal migrants will compromise the ability of finance in the U.S. military.

That is why officials have also suggested that holding detainees at the military bases in Texas or any other detention center in the U.S. is much cheaper than pushing in Guantanamo Bay. The proposal of military officials is a great option to consider not to deteriorate the financial loss for the illegal migrants.

Although Trump's decision has not yet been clear as to why he was pushing the detention of the immigrants in Guantanamo Bay, it certainly is for sure the moving of migrants will still cost a lot.

Cancelled Return of Immigrants to Their Home Country

Migrants who do not have the proper authority to live and stay in the U.S. were perceived by Trump as "illegal aliens" are now shaking. Illegal migrants will be serving their lives soon in the Guantanamo Bay detention camp as per the decision of Trump to push them in there.

"The faster removal of illegal migrants in the United States can put a huge amount of people at risk, including us U.S. citizens," immigration experts said.

With the temporary consideration for illegal immigrants, they need to present a validity that they are working and living for almost two years in the U.S. not to be considered as detainees. Without proper proof of migrants, the military deportation flights would probably continue. The fast-track deportation will likely affect almost all the migrants without proper identification and the purpose for their stay in the U.S.
