Non-Government Housing

Off Base Housing, Naval Support Activity Bethesda Housing

Housing in the local community runs the spectrum from studios, furnished and unfurnished apartments, townhomes, house rentals and new home construction as well as resale--city, suburban, small town, rural. Those seeking a more metropolitan setting may choose to live in the District. Those seeking a rural setting may choose the farther reaches of Charles, Calvert or St. Mary's Counties in Maryland. Many choose to live in Alexandria, Virginia, or to commute from further south in Virginia.

There are no mobile home lots on base.

Where you chose to live is a highly personal matter and you need to take into consideration your needs and preferences as well as those of your family. We suggest you visit the area and drive around; talk to people already here. If you plan on a house hunting TAD/TDY, consider contacting a realtor to show you around the available properties. Regardless of what you choose to do, the housing office should be your first stop. They can provide information on housing availability and lists of housing in the area tailored to your needs.

They can provide a list of rentals with corresponding locator maps and give you information regarding the area in which rentals are located.
