Naval Support Activity Bethesda offers full time child development services for active duty military personnel assigned duty in the local Washington, DC/Maryland/Virginia area. DoD civilians working at NSAB and its tenant commands are also eligible to use the facility on a space available basis. The program is DoD certified and is also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Programs offered

Children ages 6-weeks to 5-years can receive full-time care at the Child Development Centers (CDC) located in Building 26 (CDC #I) and Building 82 (CDC #II) both of which are on Constitution Drive behind the Bowling Center. Children are assigned to classrooms based on age and developmental level: infants, pre-toddlers, toddlers, and preschoolers (age 3 to 5).


All fees are based on total family income and will not be pro-rated for Federal holidays, other government closures or child's illness. A $50 non-refundable registration fee must be paid in advance and is credited towards the first payment.


While there is a waiting time of approximately six months to one year priority is given to wounded warriors, single and dual military parents.
