Situated in the Lahontan Valley in the high desert of northern Nevada, Churchill County is connected to Reno, Nevada, and from there to San Francisco by Interstate 80, and to Los Angeles by several U.S. highways beginning with U.S. 95. Las Vegas can also be reached by car in about six hours on U.S. 95. Salt Lake City is about 480 miles to the east and can be reached on Interstate 80. Fallon is the county seat of Churchill County.
For those flying, the nearest major airport is Reno-Tahoe International Airport, 70 miles to the west. Churchill County is served by a Greyhound station.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is about 70 miles from Naval Air Station Fallon. Major carriers include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and Volaris Airlines.
Ground transportation includes bus, taxi, limo, shuttle and rental car. Taxi fare to NAS Fallon will exceed $100. Rental car pickup is available just outside the terminal building. All nine rental car counters are in baggage claim. The airport has a cellphone waiting lot, which provides motorists a place to park and wait for their parties to arrive, collect their baggage and call to be picked up curbside.
NAS Fallon can be reached in about an hour by car, on Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 50.
