JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR- HICKAM, Hawaii Airmen from the 241st Engineering Installation Squadron travel for the first time with the 134th Air Refueling Wing to Hawaii for annual training June 24-July 7.

The 241st became part of the 134th ARW in 2017, and since then the Airmen have had limited opportunities to work with one another.

"To have the 241st here with us, and seeing the quality work they are doing shows a lot," said Command Chief Master Sgt. Stan Drozdowski, 134th ARW. "It is great to have them here and hopefully, as we move forward in the future, we are able to bring them with us."

While here, the 241st has been working with the 134th Communications Squadron, and supporting the local Air National Guard unit with setting up and organizing communications in an office building.

"Our tasks during this trip have helped us sharpen our work skills and given us the opportunity to work with other Airmen in the same type of career field," said Staff Sgt. Allen Cantrell, member of the 241st EIS.

Master Sgt. Timothy Archer, information technology specialist with the 154th Communications Squadron, said the Airmen from both the 134th and 241st have gone above and beyond, and have been great at communicating every step of the way.

The Airmen have not only shown that they can work well with each other, they have also been able to get to know one another while exploring the island together.

"I think everyone has bonded very well," said Drozdowski. "The 241st has been integrated with our communication folks and they have been taking them around and seeing a lot. I've heard a lot great stories."

Cantrell said that this trip with the 134th ARW has been a really great experience for the Airmen assigned to the 241st EIS.

"Besides being able to work with one another, we have also been given the opportunity to hang out and really get to know each other on a personal level," said Cantrell.

The 241st EIS is an Air National Guard unit based out of Chattanooga. Their mission is to provide engineering and installation of ground communication-electronics systems. This includes the removal and relocation of old or outdated ground communication-electronics systems, and providing emergency and programmed, mobile, on-site, maintenance, and modification of these systems.
