School Supply Drive
SMC is hosting a school supply drive in support of Kirtland Elementary School. Donation boxes are located in the entrance to the AAFES Base Exchange. Drop off all donations by August 9. For more information, contact SSgt Erik Stauffer at 505-843-2840 or

CCAF sets end date for Professional Manager Certification
The Community College of the Air Force will no longer accept applications for the CCAF Awarded Professional Manager Certification program after September 30, 2019. To be eligible for the PMC, Airmen must have been awarded a CCAF degree and their 7 skill-level or higher. They must have also completed ALS, NCOA, SNCOA, or their equivalent, and also completed 30 semester hours of leadership/management coursework. Team Kirtland 5/6 Council Treasurer Position vacancy
The 5/6 council is accepting letters of intent and nomination forms for those interested in joining. After completion of both forms, submit them to TSgt Derek Sizemore and TSgt Tyson Heckert. The close out date is August 2. The person voted to fill the position will be announced at the next 5/6 meeting on August 9at 3 p.m. in the Mountain View Club’s Relativity Bar.

Post 9/11 GI Bill transfer cutoff deadline extended
A change to policy will allow Airmen with 16 or more years of service to transfer their GI bill benefits to a spouse or child until January 12, 2020.

Sports Physicals
The 377th Medical Group Pediatrics Clinic will be holding sports physicals on July 16 and August 8 from 1 to 6 p.m. This event is walk-ins only. Participants must bring their own sports physical form.

Requirement for Civilians attending training
Prior to attending any training of eight hours or more and/or if there is any cost involved, civilian employees assigned to Kirtland must submit an SF 182, Authorization, Agreement and Certification of Training (this does not include NAF personnel). The form must be approved by the 377 FSS civilian training office. All SF 182 requests must be sent to at least two weeks prior to the training start date. Volunteers Needed
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico is looking for volunteers to mentor children and provide tutoring support in math, reading and writing at Wherry Elementary School. Volunteers would report once a week for the 2019/2020 school year. To volunteer, visit

Community College of the Air Force degree opportunity

Bod Pod appointments

Better Body Better Life Class
Health Promotion is hosting a five-class series that takes place every Tuesday from 8 to 9 a.m. in Classroom A at the 377th Medical Group. It is a weight management course for active duty members only. To RSVP, call 505-846-1483.

Food Pantry
Eligible service members including active duty, National Guard, Reserves, retirees, DoD civilians and their family members can go to the food pantry in time of financial hardship for the grocery necessities at no cost to them. The pantry is open from 7:15 a.m. until 4 p.m., and is located in the Consolidated Support Facility, Ste. 126.

Blended Retirement System/Thrift Savings Plan
The Airman & Family Readiness Flight is hosting a briefing in the AFRF Training Room of the Consolidated Support Facility from 10 to 11 a.m. This workshop is designed to provide participants with knowledge about investing, saving, and retirement options. Plan My Move
The Airman & Family Readiness Flight is hosting a briefing in Room 120 of the Consolidated Support Facility. There will be representatives from TMO, finance, legal, base housing, and more. The Air Force Ball Committee is hosting a street festival at Hardin Field from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is a free event and will have activities for kids, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, yoga class, military displays, a silent auction, and more. Commemorative Air Force Lobo Wing Open House
There will be an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside hangar 80 at the Moriarty Municipal Airport. Attendees will receive a free tour of a Beechcraft AT-11 Kansan bombardier trainer and a Fairchild PT-26 Cornell primary trainer. For more information, visit

Hollywood production showing
Producers of the Hollywood production of the “Last Full Measure,” the Pitsenbarger Medal of Honor story, will host a showing of their movie at the theater at 10 a.m. This event is open to all Kirtland members.

September 9
Financial Peace University
The Chapel is offering a free class each Monday from September 9 to November 18 at the 58th Special Operations Wing Performance Leadership center from 11:45 a.m. to noon. There will also be an evening class held at Gravity from 6 to 8 p.m. The class will cover financial principles from a Christian perspective. No religious background necessary. All Terrain
This class formats all terrains, to include team drills and visualization rides, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. Tuesdays, and 11 a.m., to noon Thursdays.
Power Ride
Higher resistance training to improve strength, stamina and power, 11 a.m. to Noon Tuesdays and 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. Thursdays.
Fitness Conditioning
A 60-minute functional total body workout incorporating cardiovascular, upper body strength, core strength, pushups and sit ups. Everything needed to pass the Air Force Fitness Assessment Test. This class is designed to teach proper push-up and sit-up techniques and build cardiovascular endurance. This class is highly recommended for those on the Fitness Improvement Program and runs from 6 to 7 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
Basic Training
A 60-minute functional total body workout this class will incorporate cardiovascular, strength, endurance, balance, push-ups, core, speed and agility, as well as partner drills. Instructors will push to optimum fitness potential. Classes run from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 3 to 4 p.m. Thursdays.
Muscle Hour
Integrate balance with strength while using the barbells, heavy bars, and dumbbells to sculpt. BOSU and fit balls may be incorporated from time to time. All fitness levels.
Class runs from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
Zumba and Strong by Zumba
Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance and tone program that runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Strong by Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves synced to original music and runs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays.
Yoga Stretch and Strengthening
A level-1 class combining traditional yoga postures with deep stretching, breathing exercises, and meditation. Great for beginners and the more physically fit, resulting in increased flexibility, strength and stress reduction, running from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays.
Combines the muscle sculpting, core firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. This fat-burning, low-impact workout is designed for all levels and runs from 5 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday.

Free weekend movies
The base theater plays free movies, open to anyone with base access. Movies start Friday with The Curse of La LLorona (R) at 6 p.m. Saturday begins with Ugly Dolls (PG) at 3 p.m. and Captain Marvel (PG-13) at 6 p.m. Finally, Sherlock Gnomes (PG) plays on Sunday at 3 p.m.


Air Force Reserves
The 377th Force Support Squadron In-Service Recruiting Office provides Palace Front and Palace Chase briefings twice a month at 9 a.m., every second and last Wednesday at the Consolidated Support Building inside the FTAC training Rm. 111. The office is also available to provide information on continuing service in the reserves for active duty members transitioning out of the Air Force. For questions, contact Master Sgt. RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler
Skip the long wait for an ID card by scheduling for an ID appointment on the RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler. This is a self-service function that allows members to book their own appointment and can be accessed 24/7. Also, if scheduling an appointment and the DEERS network goes down, people will receive a call from the 377th Military Personnel Section customer support staff. In addition to making an appointment, the RAPIDS Appointment Scheduler answers some of the most commonly asked questions to ensure people are prepared for appointments.
