The state department of health works to promote health and wellness, improve health outcomes, and assure safety net services for New Mexicans.

The department’s headquarters is in Santa Fe, with public health offices and treatment and long-term care facilities throughout the state. Its website has information on health topics, services available and a listing of local public health offices by county.

Local public health offices offer a range of care, including children’s medical services, family planning, immunizations, STD counseling and testing, WIC and nutrition services, and more.
