Photo Essay: Hundreds attend 2019 Retiree Appreciation Day at Fort McCoy

Story by Scott Sturkol on 09/13/2019

Nearly 600 military retirees and family members attended the 2019 Retiree Appreciation Day on Sept. 6 at Fort McCoy.

The annual event is coordinated by the Fort McCoy Soldier For Life-Retirement Services Office of the Directorate of Human Resources.

Numerous speakers talked with military retirees and their family members and several special events took place to support the day.

The event is held annually in September at Fort McCoy.

Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.

The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
