USO celebrates Air Force’s 72nd birthday early at Fort McCoy

Story by Scott Sturkol on 09/16/2019

USO-Wisconsin volunteer Judy Adank dished up a root beer float Sept. 16, 2019, during a celebration of the Air Force’s 72nd birthday at the USO facility at Fort McCoy, Wis.

Soldiers, Sailors at Fort McCoy for training, and several retired Air Force Airmen participated in the celebration.

USO-Wisconsin keeps their facility, located on the cantonment area, open five days a week on post.

Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.

The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
