Wildlife Education Center

The JBER Wildlife Education Center, 8481 19th St. near the intersection with Rickenbacker Street, features more than 200 Alaska wildlife displays. It is also an excellent source of hunting, ?shing and natural resource conservation information, including copies of state regulations. 

Moose and bear safety videos may be viewed on request. The JBER natural resources staff is co-located and offers wood and resource use permits and volunteer opportunities. The conservation enforcement of?ce is in Building 7210, 12th St., or can be reached at 907-552-8609. 

The WEC is open from noon to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from noon to 2:15 p.m on Friday. Admission is free. To schedule a tour, call 907-552-0310 at least two weeks in advance. For other tours/video presentations during closed periods, call 907-552-0310 or 552-0200.
