Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment Northwest


Located on the Seaplane Base, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Detachment Northwest is an operational shore detachment that responds to emergencies throughout Commander, Navy Region Northwest’s area of responsibility. Members are trained and equipped to render safe all types of explosive hazards including conventional, chemical, biological and nuclear ordnance; improvised explosive devices and weapons of mass destruction; and to neutralize hazards to personnel and property on land and underwater.

The detachment provides support to other DOD and civilian law enforcement agencies as well as the U.S. Secret Service for protection of the president, vice president, foreign heads of state and designated VIPs.

EOD Detachment Northwest is operationally under the control of Commander, Navy Region Northwest.
