Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury Assistance

Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury Assistance

Have you heard of the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury? They serve Warriors and their Families who need help with those issues and promote resilience, recovery and reintegration.

The Defense Centers for Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury, or DCoE, can also help link you to valuable information and resources when you need them most. That way you don’t have to dig through all the data out there! Finding good help is hard to do, especially when it comes to medical help, and the DCoE is here to help you find what you’re looking for.

DCoE was created in November 2007 to be the open door for Warriors and their Families needing help with psychological health and traumatic brain injury issues. DCoE accomplishes this goal by promoting the resilience, recovery and reintegration of Warriors and their Families.

DCoE oversees three centers, each of which contributes unique insights, standards, clinical tools and research products to the fields of psychological health and traumatic brain injury.

Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center »
The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) is the traumatic brain injury (TBI) operational component of DCoE.

Deployment Health Clinical Center »
A gateway to information on deployment health and healthcare for healthcare providers, service members, veterans, and their families.

National Center for Telehealth and Technology »
Our mission at the National Center for Telehealth & Technology is to lead the innovation of mobile health and telehealth solutions to deliver psychological health and traumatic brain injury care and support to our nation’s warriors, veterans and their families.

The DCoE partners with the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs and a national network of military and civilian agencies, community leaders, advocacy groups, clinical experts, and academic institutions to establish best practices and quality standards for the treatment of PH and TBI. Their work is carried out across these major areas: clinical care; education and training; prevention; research and patient, family and community outreach.

In addition, DCoE is working to tear down the stigma that still inhibit some from seeking treatment for problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and TBI with their Real Warriors Campaign: http://www.realWarriors.net/

The joint goal of the DCoE is to maximize opportunities for Warriors and Families to thrive through a collaborative global network to promote resilience, recovery and reintegration for PH and TBI.

If you, or someone you know, has a traumatic brain injury and needs help, don’t hesitate to contact the DCoE. They’re here to help, and they have the cutting edge technology, the experienced and compassionate staff and the dedication necessary to really understand, recover and revive the lives of those affected by TBI.
