Just got orders to Fort Campbell? You landed in one of the most underrated regions in the South, straddling the Kentucky-Tennessee border with two states worth of things to do. Start right on base with a round of golf or a game of bowling, then head just outside the gates to the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum for a dose of military history. Clarksville's arts and dining scene is thriving. Catch a live performance at the Roxy Regional Theater, then grab a bite nearby. Try handcrafted brews and pub grub at the Black Horse, a slice of Italy at Casa d'Italia, or local favorites like Johnny's Big Burger in the Mail Room. When the weather's nice, get outside. The Clarksville Greenway and Dunbar Caves State Park offer great trails for you and your four-legged friends, and plenty of local patios are dog-friendly too. Ready for a day trip? Nashville is under an hour away. Mammoth Cave and the legendary Bell Witch Cave in Adams are both worth a drive for a weekend adventure. Fort Campbell is a great home base, and this region will keep surprising you the longer you're here.
