Looking for something fun to do near Fort Lee on your next day off? You're in luck! Fort Lee is perfectly located to take advantage of all the great activities and fantastic restaurants throughout the Virginia Tri-Cities region, the city of Richmond, and its suburbs. Start out on base at the U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum to learn about the history of Army logistics or head to the U.S. Army Women's Museum to learn about the incredible impact of women in the U.S. Army going all the way back to the American Revolution. If you've explored all the exhibits in those two museums on base, there are plenty more in the Richmond area exploring everything from history to art, science, and much more. If museums aren't your thing and you'd rather be exploring the great outdoors, head to nearby Pocahontas State Park with its miles of fantastic dog-friendly hiking trails or go to Tree Time Adventures, an exciting treetop ropes course perk. If you're into gaming, try out the Escape Rooms at veteran-owned Escape Adventures or your next favorite board game at Unplugged Games Cafe. When you've worked up an appetite, the local area has tons of great restaurants offering a variety of cuisines and many of them have pet-friendly outdoor seating. If you just need a weekend getaway, it's only a few hours' drive to the nation's capital in Washington, D.C. or to a seaside getaway in Virginia Beach. At Fort Lee, there's so much waiting for you just outside the gates. What are you waiting for? Get out and explore.
