Child Development Centers

The Tobyhanna CDC offers a variety of care options for children 6 weeks to 6 years of age. The center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is certified by the Department of Defense. Professionally trained staff adhere to health, safety and facility standards, creating a safe, nurturing environment. Children can be involved in a variety of activities based on the individual needs of each child. Fees are based on total family income. Middle School Teen Program

Tobyhanna Army Depot offers a free Middle School and Teen Program for qualified and registered youth in grade 6 and up. The program has a computer lab, certified teachers to help with homework, and partnerships with the Boys & Girls Club of America and 4-H. MST also participates in a volunteer program called America’s Promise. Youth are offered opportunities throughout the year to volunteer on the installation and in their community. Curriculum encompasses the service areas of health, wellness, life skills, character and leadership, the arts, education and career development, sports, fitness and recreation. School Age Care

The School Age Care program is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. SAC provides before- and after-school programs and full-day services during school breaks. Children in kindergarten through eighth grade may also participate in a full-day summer program. The SAC program includes a homework center, staffed with a teacher to assist the children, and a technology lab, equipped with computers with the latest in educational software and staff to assist the children with work or play. The SAC program is licensed through the DOD and the state of Pennsylvania. It is accredited by the National AfterSchool Association. School Liaison Program

The School Liaison Program is designed to inform and assist military and civilian families with school and transition issues while creating and sustaining partnerships between the military and civilian communities and schools. Tutoring

Study Strong provides 24/7 online tutoring for Army-affiliated students. After registering online, students are connected to a tutor in an online classroom. Online classrooms use controlled chat and an interactive white board. Students can send computer files, such as essays, to the tutor for review and assistance. Educational support is available for kindergarten through 12th grade and college prep. Preparations for career transitions, writing resumes and studying for exams are available for adults.
