The Hawaiian Islands are among the most popular travel destinations in the world, and you’ll be able to take advantage of those benefits on a daily basis. During your stay, you’ll never run out of fun things to do in Hawaii. We have listed some Honolulu, Hawaii, things to do below and organized them into several categories. The list is not exhaustive, but it provides a good starting point. Due to ongoing coronavirus concerns, many businesses and venues are likely subject to some form of restrictions. Outdoor Recreation Center

The on-post Outdoor Recreation Center is a useful source for various outdoor activities during your stay. They offer programs, guided tours, equipment rentals, and lessons on how to use the equipment. Among the many programs they currently offer are surfing lessons, snorkeling, mountain biking, and fishing. Please contact the Center for more information about all the exciting adventures they offer.

1. Schofield Barracks Health and Fitness Center

: 1 (808) 655-8007 The Schofield Barracks Health and Fitness Center offers the most convenient way for active-duty soldiers to stay fit during their posting. Scheduled classes, such as yoga or cycling, are available, as is personal training. Classes are $4, but you can purchase a 10-pack for $35 to save yourself a few bucks. Of course, if you prefer to work out on your own, there’s all the usual gym equipment, from machines to free weights. There are other fitness centers on the island that might be more convenient for you, such as the Martinez Physical Fitness Center and Fort Shafter Physical Fitness Center. 2. Intramural Sports

Thanks to Hawaii’s excellent weather, leagues are played year-round. The currently offered sports are flag football, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and ultimate frisbee.

3. Regal Pearl Highlands

5. Pearl Harbor National Memorial

There, you can learn about the December 1941 attack that prompted the United States’s entry into World War II and pay your respects to fallen service members. Entry into the Visitor Center and various museums on-site is free. The USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor’s most well-known memorial, does require its own ticket, but the ticket is free. However, spots are limited, so it's strongly recommended you make a reservation online, which has a $1 service fee.

6. Tropic Lightning Museum

7. Leilehua Golf Course

: 1 (808) 655-4653 Another perk of the Army MWR is Leilehua Golf Course, an 18-hole course for golf fans stationed on Oahu. It’s hard to beat Hawaii golf courses due to the great weather and stunning scenery, and Leilehua is no different. Plus, the fees are a bargain compared to most courses you can play on the Islands. Tee times can be booked ahead of time by phone or online.

8. Ted Makalena Golf Course

9. Hawaii Country Club

10. Waikele Golf Course

11. Dole Pineapple Plantation Oahu

Take a tour on the Pineapple Express train through the pineapple fields, stroll through the lush gardens, and test yourself in the hedge maze. Don’t forget to end your day with some delicious, fresh pineapple. Or, better yet, a cup of Dole Whip frozen yogurt, a must-try for first-time visitors.

: 1 (808) 237-7321 Kualoa Ranch offers a wide array of activities, from Jeep expeditions to guided horseback tours to activities on a secluded beach. Movie buffs will love the Movie Sites Tour. Many TV and film productions, including blockbusters like Jurassic Park, use the Ranch to this day. On the guided bus tour, you’ll see some of the sets and props from these productions and might even see filming in progress. Perhaps the most popular activity on the Ranch is the guided zipline tour, where you’ll glide across seven different ziplines on your way through the valley.

13. Waikiki Beach

A day at the world-famous Waikiki Beach is among the best things to do in Oahu, Hawaii. This tourist spot is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and it’s surrounded by a plethora of shopping and dining.

14. Kolekole Trail and Pu’u Hapapa Trail

The Kolekole and Pu’u Hapapa Trails are located at Schofield Barracks and, thus, require a military ID to access the trailhead. They’re a perfect spot to enjoy nature without the crowds that can be found elsewhere on Oahu. Local hikers advise those afraid of heights should probably skip this trail due to some steep cliffs, but those who make the trek will be rewarded with stunning views. Adventure seekers will find that this trail is one of the many can't-miss fun things to do in Hawaii.
