Outdoor Recreation Center

The on-post Outdoor Recreation Center is a useful source for various outdoor activities during your stay. They offer programs, guided tours, equipment rentals, and lessons on how to use the equipment. Among the many programs they currently offer are surfing lessons, snorkeling, mountain biking, and fishing. : 1 (808) 655-8007 The Schofield Barracks Health and Fitness Center offers the most convenient way for active-duty soldiers to stay fit during their posting. Scheduled classes, such as yoga or cycling, are available, as is personal training. Classes are $4, but you can purchase a 10-pack for $35 to save yourself a few bucks. Of course, if you prefer to work out on your own, there’s all the usual gym equipment, from machines to free weights. There are other fitness centers on the island that might be more convenient for you, such as the Martinez Physical Fitness Center and Fort Shafter Physical Fitness Center. 2. Intramural Sports

5. Pearl Harbor National Memorial

There, you can learn about the December 1941 attack that prompted the United States’s entry into World War II and pay your respects to fallen service members. Entry into the Visitor Center and various museums on-site is free. The USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor’s most well-known memorial, does require its own ticket, but the ticket is free. However, spots are limited, so it's strongly recommended you make a reservation online, which has a $1 service fee.

6. Tropic Lightning Museum

On the guided bus tour, you’ll see some of the sets and props from these productions and might even see filming in progress. Perhaps the most popular activity on the Ranch is the guided zipline tour, where you’ll glide across seven different ziplines on your way through the valley.

They’re a perfect spot to enjoy nature without the crowds that can be found elsewhere on Oahu. Local hikers advise those afraid of heights should probably skip this trail due to some steep cliffs, but those who make the trek will be rewarded with stunning views.
