KINGSLEY WILSON: TOP PENTAGON SPOKESPERSON HAS TIES TO THE NEO NAZI MOVEMENT
Politicians are wondering why Kingsley Wilson is working in The Pentagon. Holding the position of Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, Wilson has a not-so-distant past of social media support for antisemitic views and xenophobia. Both Republicans and Democrats are denouncing her views and want her removed from the military and political realm.
Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson Supports Nazis
Kingsley Wilson is facing backlash over a history of social media posts promoting extremist rhetoric.
While this includes recent sentiments, her posts, dating back to at least 2021, include antisemitic conspiracy theories, white nationalist talking points, and xenophobic remarks.
Wilson questioned the facts behind the lynching of Leo Frank, a Jewish man wrongly convicted of murder over a century ago, a well-known antisemitic trope, and has also repeatedly described colonialism as a “humanitarian venture.”
Furthermore, Wilson’s posts on X, Elon Musk's company formerly Twitter, often echo white supremacist rhetoric almost word for word.
As concerns grow over her past statements, questions are mounting about how someone with such a controversial online history was appointed to a high-level position at The Pentagon.
Wilson’s Extremist Viewpoints
There are a lot of things Kingsley Wilson is supporting online, however, many of her posts have a common theme—the support of views that fit within the ideology of Nazis.
Wilson has openly endorsed “The Great Replacement Theory,” a widely debunked white nationalist conspiracy, which she has called a “reality.” She has also claimed that Native American lands were "conquered" rather than stolen, which has ties to the white supremacist group Patriot Front.
Controversially, Wilson's praise of Confederate General Robert E. Lee as “one of the greatest Americans” is complimented by her belief that “anti-white racism” is plaguing the United States.
The theme continues, as Wilson supported colonization, Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) Party, which has a history of Holocaust denial, and the use of extremist slogans like “Ausländer Raus” (“foreigners out”) and “Deutschland den Deutschen. Ausländer raus” (“Germany for Germans, foreigners out”), both phrases with neo-Nazi ties.
"If you look at those tweets in totality, what it comes down to is that she is an unabashed white nationalist," said Luke Baumgartner, an expert on extremism researching at George Washington University.
Furthermore, Baumgartner went on to speak about Wilson’s views saying the following, "If anybody knows anything about the AfD, it's a bunch of Nazis. It's a German political party that uses repackaged Nazi phrasing and advertising.”
“A lot of what she says would be right at home in any of the neo-Nazi Telegram chats that I see every day," he continued.
The Role of Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary
For Wilson, her role at The Pentagon traditionally involves helping lead press briefings, however, it's a bit unclear what that looks like now, seeing as the Trump administration has yet to resume them.
Her antisemitic posts remain public as of this writing, and while the wording and techniques may be modern, it's the same long-standing extremist viewpoints that have been echoed by far-right white nationalists for generations.
Backlash Surrounding Kingsley Wilson Is Pouring In
Criticism is mounting over Kingsley Wilson’s past social media posts, drawing attention from Jewish advocacy groups, major media outlets, and lawmakers from both parties.
Furthermore, questions regarding the vetting process of people hired within the Trump administration are being raised.
“I’m not gonna tell them who to hire, but I do know that Trump doesn’t believe any of the things she’s talking about, and I’ll leave it up to them to determine if they think she’s the right spokesperson. If what you say about these posts (is) true, then she’s completely off-script with President Trump,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
Wilson’s posts not only align with extremist rhetoric but also contradict some Trump administration policies, show support for the Kremlin, and are in direct conflict with supporting our nation's biggest ally in the Middle East.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) has called for Wilson’s firing, stating that anyone promoting neo-Nazi conspiracy theories shouldn’t hold public office.
However, the Trump administration has stood by staffers with similar histories, including when Musk rehired a controversial official, Marko Elez, despite his racist social media activity. Not to mention Musk’s controversial gesture many tie to Nazis.
Whether or not someone should be fired for social media posts is a controversial topic in and of itself, however, what shouldn't be, is whether or not Nazis and those who support such viewpoints should be a part of our government or military.
Wilson can have the right to hate who she wants and articulate it how she sees fit, but there's no room for such activities that go directly against the principles of our nation and military.
Will Kingsley Wilson be fired or kept on? The world is watching, and only time will tell.
