GOP PLAN AIMS TO PREVENT GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN IN 2025, FUNDING JUNIOR ENLISTED PAY

The “Grand Old Party,” also known as the Republican Party, is trying its best to prevent a government shutdown 2025 from happening by cutting more budgets in the non-military departments.
This situation will benefit many departments, such as the U.S. Department of Defense and junior enlisted military personnel, to get paid on time and be the focal point in giving the benefits they have earned through their services in the U.S. military.
Republicans are preventing the closure of the federal government and requesting pay raise funding for the junior enlisted in the military services due to the underlying issues of inflation, which will affect the low-ranking Army personnel.
In the context of Continuity Resolution (CR), which serves as a temporary budget to allocate for military spending while waiting for budget approval, the government shutdown will be extended or will not happen.
Republican Party Fights Against Government Shutdown
The House of Republicans fully disapproves of a government shutdown in 2025. Their dedication to keeping the federal government is very evident, as they aim to give raises to junior enlisted military personnel.
Due to the support of the military budget, many departments' budgets have been cut, resulting in the federal government funding focused on one sector: the military.
With the imbalanced allocation of the budget, the limit of the financial assets to the military might exceed and will not move forward for the U.S. Congress's approval once reviewed.
The government shutdown will occur if the U.S. Congress does not approve the budget, as Trump proposed a budget for the year 2025. Underlying issues arise as to why the budget is still not approved due to the many branches the federal government is financing.
Pay Raise for Junior Enlisted Troops Is Coming
Putting an effort in, such as the agencies must be on autopilot in funding extra raises for checks to cover a junior enlisted. The said raise of pay through the junior enlisted should take effect next month while the GOP is preventing a government shutdown.
The Republican party is seeking fairness in the employment raise of pay for the junior enlisted as their effort as low-ranking military personnel should be seen, especially at times of economic downfall of the U.S.
Regardless of the budget issues of the contingency resolution, the GOP prioritizes the extra money that the federal government gives to junior enlisted military personnel.
For instance, the higher inflation rates in the U.S. affected the lower-ranking military, which was evident after the government shutdown. That is why the GOP is fighting for the lower military-ranking rights to receive the best possible care during the financial crisis.
Working Without Pay
The shutdown will affect those lower military ranking as they are low-income earners. Once the government shuts down, military personnel will be forced to work without pay.
Along with troops in the military, their working effort will be paid off when the U.S. Congress approves the new proposed government funding. However, the U.S. Congress will have separate legislation regarding continuing the paycheck if it is still advisable.
The situation of the military personnel will fall in the 50-50. The decision on the payment raise will be made to the junior enlisted if the government approves the military budget. Conversely, they will work while waiting for the next paycheck due to the government shutdown 2025.
Why Is the Continuing Resolution Needed?
The Continuing Resolution is a temporary budget used while waiting for another budget approval for the new fiscal year. The CR is the fundamental budget that will be allocated for the military budget as the budget for 2025 is still pending approval due to constant issues within Trump’s budget focused on the military departments.
Given that government shutdown 2025 is under consideration, the Continuing Resolution of funding has been utilized to ease the financial expense from the military department. The CR is used whenever the budget is not yet approved, which serves as their contingency planning.
The temporary budget keeps the Department of the Military budget to last for a year. Technically, last year's budget has been extended as we await the new budget approval or agreement to be processed.
CR’s role in preventing government shutdown 2025 is very important as the temporary budget is the guideline in waiting for the new approval. The government will be closed if the continuing resolution is not present to allocate financial assistance to the military department.
