So you’ve been assigned orders to a new post, and now you’re looking for a place to live. House hunting in the military can be challenging, especially if you’re doing it from afar and don’t know much about the area you’re moving to next. Don’t worry! Read on and use this guide to learn more about the housing options available to you on post at Fort Riley.

Services of Corvias Communities

Each community center features staff offices, a club room, a media room, a fitness center, a playroom, locker rooms, meeting rooms, and an outdoor pool. Use of the community center amenities and pools are free to on-post families, regardless of which neighborhood you live in. • Lawn care. • Package acceptance. • Water, sewer, and average electricity and gas included. • Waste and (opt-in) recycling collection.

The Communities at Fort Riley

Fort Riley’s Corvias military family housing has five communities with single-family, duplex, townhome, and apartment-style floor plans that range from two to five bedrooms. Pet-friendly units are available as well. Neighborhoods come with a variety of amenities like community centers, pools, fitness centers, playgrounds, and recreational trails. Residents in post housing can enjoy the convenience of on-site management and maintenance, curbside trash and recycling pickup, lawn care services, and a calendar full of resident activities and events. School-age children living in Fort Riley military housing can attend one of five elementary schools or the middle school found on post. Note

: Fort Riley military housing with Corvias is available for active-duty service members with dependents who are stationed within 50 miles of Fort Riley. Active-duty unaccompanied service members and E6 and above service members receiving BAH and stationed within 50 miles of Fort Riley are also eligible for on-post housing. You must have a minimum of one year of active-duty service remaining on your current orders, which includes PCS moves, to be eligible for on-post housing.

1. Colyer Forsyth

: E1-E8, O1-W2 Found in the southwestern region of the post, Colyer Forsyth is Fort Riley’s largest community. Home styles at Colyer Forsyth include one-story homes with garages; two-story duplexes with garages; and two-story, single-family homes with garages. The community is close to the commissary and exchange. Amenities include parks, playing fields, playgrounds, recreational trails, a community garden, a community center, a fitness center, and an outdoor, resort-style pool.

2. Ellis Heights

: E1-E9, O1-O3, W1-W3 Ellis Heights has one- and two-story homes with attached garages in a variety of styles. The community is near Custer Hill, within walking distance of elementary and middle schools, and has convenient access to Manhattan. Amenities include playgrounds, picnic areas, a community center, a fitness center, and a swimming pool.

3. Historic Main Post

: E1-E9, O1-07, W1-W5, and higher The Historic Main Post boasts beautiful, period architecture, and post highlights like the Artillery Parade Field, Sturgis Stadium, and Marshall Field. The community’s 285 homes include multiplex, single-family, and duplex styles. The community’s central location is close to the hospital, Riley’s Conference Center, and Fort Riley Elementary School, and offers easy access to Manhattan and Junction City.

4. McClellan Place

: E1-E5, O4-W5 McClellan Place has townhome-style and apartment-style homes with garages. The community is close to restaurants, the bowling alley, a theater, and multiple schools. Amenities include playgrounds, picnic areas, basketball courts, a community center, a fitness center, and a pool.

5. Warner Peterson

Ranks

: E1-E8, O1-O6, W1-W5 Home styles at Warner Peterson include one-story and two-story duplexes with garages. The community is close to two elementary schools and Custer Hill amenities. Amenities include playgrounds, picnic areas, a community center, a fitness center, and a swimming pool.
