Naval Base Kitsap is the third largest U.S. Navy installation in the United States and serves as the host command for the Navy’s fleets throughout the Pacific Northwest. At Naval Base Kitsap, unaccompanied housing is available to personnel E1-E3 and E4 with less than four years of service. For more senior personnel, you may be eligible to live in Unaccompanied Housing based on availability; otherwise, you will have to find housing off-base within the community. All single service Sailors must report to their unit to be assigned barracks space. Any personnel arriving on base after service hours will be assigned temporary living quarters until the next duty day. Accommodations include one or two-person rooms based on pay grade. Linens are provided at check-in, and included in the facilities are lounges equipped with televisions, washers and dryers, and vending machines in all facilities. There are also recreational, fitness, dining, religious, and educational amenities located within walking distance of the Unaccompanied Housing facilities. The first thing you will be required to do once you arrive at Naval Base Kitsap, even if you plan to live off-base, is head to the Housing Division Service Centers offices. Depending on which facility on the base you will be reporting to will determine which Housing Service Center you need to find. Below, all options are listed. There you will receive a warm welcome from a team of professionals looking to help take the stress out of relocating. You will get assistance here with all of your housing needs and any information you need on military relocation. Military family housing at Naval Base Kitsap is privatized. The owner, West Sound Family Housing by Hunt Military Community, is responsible for maintaining and managing the community neighborhoods. We advise you to contact the Housing Management Office as soon as you know that you are moving to Naval Base Kitsap. There, you will receive the latest information about privatized housing and help with the application process from the government housing team. West Sounds Family Housing offers a scenic community that contains many rental home styles in their neighborhoods with two, three, four, and some five-room floor plans. There are many different floor plans and layouts in this well-kept community. Each neighborhood and rental house comes with a set of amenities that will make you feel right at home. Amenities vary depending on which of the neighborhoods you choose at Naval Base Kitsap but include some of the following: master suites, ample closet and storage space, updated finishes, fully equipped kitchens, washer and dryer connections, backyards, garages, and central heating and air conditioning. The community itself offers amenities that will provide your family with entertainment year-round. The neighborhoods have lushly landscaped grounds that include parks and playgrounds that are perfect for a family outing right on base. A ferry can take you to Seattle’s rich cultural amenities and vibrant downtown entertainment. There is plenty of nearby hiking, golfing, boating, and fishing opportunities. Be sure to keep up to date with the community as there are many free community events hosted throughout the year. Applying here is similar to living in the local community. You will sign a tenant lease agreement, typically for a one-year term. Your lease will include a military clause and a lease termination clause. Naval Base Kitsap Family Home Neighborhoods
1. Naval Base Kitsap: Bangor Creek
Bangor Creek is located within walking distance of most of the base facilities. This neighborhood features beautifully renovated homes that are pet friendly and nestled in a serene, park setting. The housing consists of two to five-bedroom rental homes.2. Naval Base Kitsap: Bangor Valley
Bangor Valley offers two, three, and four-bedroom homes to both officer and enlisted families. All of the homes located in this neighborhood come with a backyard and two-car garage. This is also a pet-friendly community.3. Naval Base Kitsap: Bangor Valley II
Bangor Valley II is a newly built neighborhood that offers three and four-bedroom options. You’ll enjoy gas ranges, equipped kitchens, and washer and dryer hookups here. They also have large yards attached, and you’ll be surrounded by multiple playgrounds, walking paths, beaches, and scenic landscaping.4. Naval Base Kitsap: Bremerton
This neighborhood offers a wide array of historical Kitsap rental homes. The views from the Bremerton neighborhood include waterfront parks and 300 miles of shoreline. The wide range of these homes offers many options starting from 1200 square feet to 7500 in some of the biggest models. This is a pet-friendly community.5. Naval Base Kitsap: Keyport
