Introduction
Welcome to Scott Air Force Base, the global mobility and transportation hub for the Department of Defense. Scott AFB manages global mobility missions around the world, as well as aeromedical evacuation, senior leader airlift, and aerial refueling capabilities for the Air Force and DOD. Scott AFB employs approximately 12,900 military and civilian personnel. The base is home to the U.S. Transportation Command, the Air Mobility Command, the 618th Air and Space Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center), the Air Force Network Integration Center, and other tenant units. These units bring together members of the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Directions to Scott AFB
Scott AFB is found in southern Illinois in St. Clair County. The base is approximately 20 miles east of St. Louis, which is across the Mississippi River in nearby Missouri. Scott AFB is in the Metro-East region of the greater St. Louis area. To the south of base is Mascoutah; to the north of base is O'Fallon; and to the west of base is Shiloh, Fairview Heights, and Belleville.St. Louis Lambert International Airport

- Take Interstate 70 east from the airport.
- Exit onto Interstate 64 east (Illinois/Louisville Kentucky).
- From Interstate 64, take Exit 19A (Scott AFB/Route 158).
- Continue straight until you reach the second stoplight (Seibert Road) and turn left.
- Continue straight to the Shiloh Gate.
MidAmerica St. Louis Airport
MidAmerica St. Louis Airport is approximately 8 miles from base, but is only served by Allegiant Airlines from a limited number of destinations.Driving Directions From MidAmerica St. Louis Airport
- Take state Route 4 north from the airport.
- Turn left to merge onto Interstate 64 west.
- From I-64, take Exit 21 toward Rieder Road.
- Turn right onto Chocktaw Road. Continue onto Wherry Road.
- Turn left onto Old Illinois 158.
- Turn right onto Federal-Aid Sec 1845/Seibert Road.
- Seibert Road will take you to the Shiloh Gate.

Entering Scott AFB and Base Amenities

After you arrive at Scott AFB, report to your unit the next duty day. Your unit will give you guidance on in-processing with the Military Personnel Section. An in-processing video and forms can be found at the Scott AFB finance office website under "Scott AFB PCS In-Processing." A newcomers orientation is scheduled for all in-processing personnel. Spouses are encouraged to attend. The orientation is currently conducted virtually due to COVID-19. Mission partners and personnel assigned to units not in-processed via the 375th MPS should report to their unit orderly room, commander's support staff, J1 (USTRANSCOM personnel), or administrative personnel section during duty hours for in-processing procedures. The city of Belleville is about 10 miles west of Scott AFB. The city has a population of approximately 40,900 people. Belleville is home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, one of the largest outdoor shrines in North America. More than a million people visit the 200-acre outdoor Marian shrine each year.
