IntroductionWelcome to Lackland Air Force Base, “Gateway to the Air Force.” Part of Joint Base San Antonio, Lackland AFB is an enclave inside the city of San Antonio in Bexar County, Texas. Entering Lackland Air Force Base and Base AmenitiesTo enter Lackland AFB, you’ll need your military ID. Your spouse will need their dependent ID card. If you don’t have those, you’ll have to show your driver’s license. And be prepared with your vehicle registration and insurance, because you may be asked for those as well. If you’re arriving in a rental car, then the rental paperwork will do the trick.
