You’re also only 25 miles north of Seattle, the largest city in the Pacific Northwest. Figuring out your child’s educational needs is one of the biggest priorities during any move. Schools on Naval Station EverettThere are no Department of Defense schools on NS Everett but there is a Child Development Center for younger children. Students who live on base will attend the Everett Public School district which is outlined below.
Naval Station Everett Day Care and Childcare Options

Phone: 1 (425) 304-3778 The Child Development Center offers Monday through Friday care from 5:30am-6:30pm and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The program focuses on the importance of play in a child’s developmental process. Parents are encouraged to participate in CDC events. The CDC is available for children ages six weeks to five years needing full-time care. Hourly care, usually available, has been paused as a COVID-19 precaution. Be sure to contact the CDC for availability as there could be a waitlist. Before and after school care is also available for older children, as well as during non-school days and summer vacation. This provides many opportunities to engage in a diverse set of activities such as sports, arts, and occasional field trips. There are even activities throughout the year for children up to age 17 who may not need daily after school care.
Schools Near Naval Station EverettYour first stop when conducting the school search for your children should be the School Liaison Officer (SLO). The SLO serves military families in a number of different areas regarding their children’s school, such as supporting families with school transfers, providing information on school boundaries, and assisting families with the special education process. Naval Station Everett School DistrictsStudents living on base will most likely attend schools in the Everett Public Schools district. The district is home to 29 schools – across those campuses are 21,000 students and 2500 staff members. The district stresses the importance of students having equitable access to technology and the support to maintain those devices. As of 2020, the district began providing every student with daily access to devices, resources, and a wireless connection. This guide will focus on the public schools in Everett and the progression through the Everett Public Schools system. However, if you live farther from base, there are plenty of schooling options for your family as Snohomish County is home to 15 school districts and nearby Island County is home to three. The Marysville School District 25 main office, for example, is less than a 15-minute drive from base.

Elementary Schools Near Naval Station EverettBelow is a sampling of schools near NS Everett. As always, contact the SLO to verify enrollment eligibility at any public school you’re considering. Unless otherwise stated, all listed elementary schools teach grades K-5, the middle schools grades 6-8, and the high schools 9-12.
1. Jackson Elementary School

Phone: 1 (425) 385-5600 At two miles from base, Jackson Elementary is the shortest drive to any elementary school in the area. Their 14-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio is also lower than the district average, so your child will get a more attentive education from staff.
2. Whittier Elementary School

Phone: 1 (425) 385-4300 In terms of walking distance, Whittier Elementary has the advantage of being the closest to NS Everett at only 1.7 miles from base. The school was built in 1948 but has undergone many refurbishments since. Due to a voter-approved bond in 2006, the school was completely modernized including the addition of a new gym.
3. Cedar Wood Elementary School

Phone: 1 (425) 385-7700 If your family lives off base in Bothell, Cedar Wood Elementary is an excellent option for your child. U.S. News & World Report ranks Cedar Wood as the best elementary school in the district and fifth best in the state. Out of 700 students enrolled, 92% are at proficient levels for math and 93% tested proficient in reading – both marks are in the top ten of more than 1000 Washington elementary schools.
Middle Schools Near Naval Station Everett
1. North Middle School
District: Everett Public Schools 2514 Rainier Ave. Everett, WA 98201
Phone: 1 (425) 385-4800 North Middle School offers the closest proximity to NS Everett at less than a two-mile drive from base. The school underwent a $50 million renovation in 2018 that included a two-story building with 30 classrooms as well as upgrades to the track, field, gym, and cafeteria. Know if your child attends North Middle School, they’ll have some of the most modern amenities around.
2. Evergreen Middle School

Due to its central location and recently updated facilities, it is a frequent site for events on the local, state, and national level. Everett High, as well as all other high schools in the district, competes in a variety of sports including football, basketball, swimming, and even bowling.
2. Henry M. Jackson High School

Phone: 1 (425) 385-7000 If your child started their education at Cedar Wood Elementary, they might conclude it at Henry M. Jackson High. Highlighted by a graduation rate of 99%, the school ranks as the best high school in the district and 26th best in the state according to the U.S. News rankings.
