Introduction

Welcome to Naval Station Everett in Washington. Naval Station Everett is the most modern shore installation in the U.S. and one of only two Navy-owned deep-water ports on the continental West Coast.

Naval Station Everett is home to Navy surface ships and the command staffs of Carrier Strike Group 11 and Destroyer Squadron 9. The naval station also supports Coast Guard vessels and Military Sealift Command supply vessels. The station is responsible for several key properties throughout Washington state. These include:

  • Naval Radio Station Jim Creek, which maintains communication with submarines in the Pacific. This station is surrounded by the 5,000-acre Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area, which includes a Navy-protected old-growth forest.
  • Naval Facility Pacific Beach, which supports a training range for Navy aviators from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and offers a recreation facility for Navy personnel.

Other focused areas of operation include the Acoustic Research Detachment in Bayview, Idaho, and the Naval Radio Transmitter Facility in LaMoure, North Dakota.

Approximately 6,000 sailors and civil service personnel are assigned to commands at Naval Station Everett. The naval station itself has about 350 sailors and civilian personnel.
