Welcome to Naval Station Everett! You now live in Everett, Washington, the county seat and largest city in Snohomish County. You’re also only 25 miles north of Seattle, the largest city in the Pacific Northwest. Figuring out your child’s educational needs is one of the biggest priorities during any move. Schools on Naval Station Everett

There are no Department of Defense schools on NS Everett but there is a Child Development Center for younger children. Students who live on base will attend the Everett Public School district which is outlined below.

Naval Station Everett Day Care and Childcare Options

1. Child Development Center (CDC)

: 1 (425) 304-3778 The Child Development Center offers Monday through Friday care from 5:30am-6:30pm and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The program focuses on the importance of play in a child’s developmental process. Parents are encouraged to participate in CDC events. The CDC is available for children ages six weeks to five years needing full-time care. Hourly care, usually available, has been paused as a COVID-19 precaution. Be sure to contact the CDC for availability as there could be a waitlist. Before and after school care is also available for older children, as well as during non-school days and summer vacation. This provides many opportunities to engage in a diverse set of activities such as sports, arts, and occasional field trips. There are even activities throughout the year for children up to age 17 who may not need daily after school care.

Your first stop when conducting the school search for your children should be the School Liaison Officer (SLO). The SLO serves military families in a number of different areas regarding their children’s school, such as supporting families with school transfers, providing information on school boundaries, and assisting families with the special education process. Naval Station Everett School Districts

Students living on base will most likely attend schools in the Everett Public Schools district. The district is home to 29 schools – across those campuses are 21,000 students and 2500 staff members. The district stresses the importance of students having equitable access to technology and the support to maintain those devices. As of 2020, the district began providing every student with daily access to devices, resources, and a wireless connection. This guide will focus on the public schools in Everett and the progression through the Everett Public Schools system. However, if you live farther from base, there are plenty of schooling options for your family as Snohomish County is home to 15 school districts and nearby Island County is home to three. The Marysville School District 25 main office, for example, is less than a 15-minute drive from base.

2. Whittier Elementary School

The school was built in 1948 but has undergone many refurbishments since. Due to a voter-approved bond in 2006, the school was completely modernized including the addition of a new gym.
