Welcome to your new home at Camp Allen, located in Norfolk, Virginia. Home to both Marine Corps Forces Command (MARFORCOM) and Marine Corps Security Forces Regiment (MCSFR), Camp Allen is considered the southern annex of Naval Station Norfolk–the largest naval station in the world. This 15-acre facility was once known as Camp Elmore and began as a Navy builders (Seabee) training site. The on-base options in this small community are limited, but housing resources are provided by Naval Station Norfolk that services the larger base around Camp Allen. We hope this guide is a valuable resource for you as you settle into your new living arrangements in the Camp Allen housing communities. For unaccompanied personnel, Camp Allen uses the Housing Service Center and lodging of Naval Station Norfolk. Unaccompanied housing is available to pay grades E1-E3 and, depending on availability, E-4s as well. For unaccompanied personnel of rank E-4 and higher, they may find housing in the local community. All single service members must report to the UH Housing Service Center (HSC) front desk in building O22. Units include a full kitchen, stackable washer, and dryer, 26 inch TV, with two bedrooms and two baths for four residents. Common spaces are located at building X1 with cable TV and WIFI. Each room is cleaned, maintained, and fully furnished. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas, and there are no pets allowed in the barracks. Because Navy Station Norfolk runs the housing for Camp Allen, the first thing you should do once you relocate is head to the Housing Welcome Office at Navy Station Norfolk. There you will receive a warm welcome from a team of professionals looking to help take the stress out of relocating. You will get assistance here with all of your housing needs and any information you need on military relocation. Military family housing at Camp Allen is a Public-Private Venture (PPV). This PPV is between the Navy and private real estate management company Lincoln Military Housing. Lincoln Military Housing is responsible for maintaining and managing the community neighborhoods that serve as homes to both Camp Allen and the larger Navy base surrounding it. There are four neighborhoods on base with multiple other options to choose from off-base as well. We advise you to contact the Housing Welcome Office as soon as you know that you are moving to Camp Allen. There, you will receive the latest information about privatized housing and help with the application process from the government housing team. You will also be informed about base-specific policies.Lincoln Military Housing
Lincoln Military Housing offers homes in the community with two, three, four, and five-bedroom floor plans. There are many different floor plans and layouts in this well-kept community. Each neighborhood and rental house, duplex, or apartment comes with a set of amenities that will make you feel right at home. Each residence is also pet friendly with a 2 pet maximum for dogs and cats, although certain breed restrictions apply. Community amenities include playgrounds, parks, picnic areas, and walking paths. The base cafe, gym, and pool are located nearby as well. Within a 5 to 10 mile radius, there are numerous shopping centers, beaches, and entertainment of all sorts in Norfolk. And be sure to keep up to date with the community as there are many free community events hosted throughout the year. Applying here is similar to living in the local community. You will sign a tenant lease agreement, typically for a one-year term. Your lease will include a military clause and a lease termination clause. Rent is paid by authorizing an allotment of your BAH that is paid directly to the property manager. If your family has school-aged children, the housing on base has many options for schooling. Nearby, you will find Camp Allen Elementary, Granby Elementary, Larchmont Elementary, Mary Calcott Elementary, Sewells Point Elementary, Suburban Park Elementary, Willard Model Elementary, Northside Middle, Lafayette Winona Middle and Granby High.
