Bonafide Single or Unaccompanied Soldiers in the ranks of E1-E5 are required to reside in the Freddie Stowers’ Single Soldier Complex. A bonafide single Soldier is a Soldier who would be entitled to a housing allowance at the without dependent rate. Single Soldiers may reside off post, but approval to reside off post must be granted in advance by the Garrison Commander. Living spaces are provided in the eight-building complex, which also has two community buildings with 24-hour access. The Housing Services Office should be your first point of contact when you get to Columbia, whether you’re going to live on or off the installation. The Housing Services Office will assist you in finding suitable and affordable housing in the local community, provide the list of Off-Limits Establishments, school and community info, deposit waivers, etc. They will also assist with landlord-tenant disputes, lease reviews, and check-in/out inspections.Fort Jackson Housing Services Office

1. Jack’s Inn
Jack’s Inn is an older officer in Family housing in the form of 2-bedroom efficiency style apartments. These units are partially furnished and provided with a limited maid service. Homes range from 2-5 bedrooms, and common single-family, townhome, and duplex styles. Select homes are also available to rent to qualified military retirees, DOD civilian employees, and general public applicants. The neighborhoods are walkable and pet friendly and feature several amenities including playgrounds, picnic areas, basketball courts, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, a fitness center, on-site management and maintenance, curbside trash and recycling pickups, and several events and activities for residents. : O1 – O3; W1 – W3; Company Grade Officers Howie Village offers three and four-bedroom homes with 2.5-3.5 baths. The neighborhood is located near Fort Jackson Golf Club and Commissary. These homes include a master suite, exterior storage, and a fully-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. Residents in Howie Village have access to their own playgrounds and a basketball court.2. Pierce Terrace 1

: E7 – E9 Pierce Terrace 1 offers spacious three and four-bedroom homes with 2.5 baths. These homes feature a master suite with a walk-in closet, a two-car garage, and central heating and air conditioning. Residents have access to multiple playgrounds and are close to the US Army Chaplain Museum, US Army Chaplain Center and School, and Fort Jackson NCO Club.3. Pierce Terrace 2
