At Fort Leavenworth, unaccompanied housing is available to enlisted ranks E-1 to E-5. For unaccompanied personnel of rank E-6 or higher, they may find housing in the local community. All single service members must report to their unit to be assigned barracks space. Any personnel arriving on post after service hours will be assigned temporary living quarters until the next duty day. Temporary space for lodging is extremely limited, particularly in the summer months. Those traveling on orders who arrive to find there is no availability for temporary lodging will be given a certificate of non-availability so that off-post lodging may be reimbursed via travel voucher. Upon arrival, Single Enlisted Soldiers will be assigned a space in the Single Soldier Quarters (SSQ). Geo-Bachelor and Single Officers can apply for on-post housing in the Infantry Barracks housing area. A sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens, and supplies required for comfortable living are provided to all personnel. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas, and there are no pets allowed in the barracks. The Unaccompanied Housing facilities strive to provide a personal residence that creates a comfortable, functional, and well-maintained home with a mission to take pride in the community.Fort Leavenworth Single Service Member Housing Office
